I just bought a Vizio P50 and started using it as a computer monintor. It was rated #1 for computer gaming at 50" by rtings.com for a TV out of all the TVs they have tested. The main thing to me so far is that my last LCD had 144 Hz which was great and having to adjust to 60 Hz using a TV set. Anyone have this as a monitor and anything I should do as far as settings go?
One of the main issues with 4k gaming has been trying to find cables worth a darn to get you 4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4. Finding cables over 6' rated for this has been hard. While surfing AVS forum, I came across a recommendation for this HDMI cable. Some people replied and vouched for it.
Best Buy has this on sale this weekend which is why I bought it. I was originally looking at a Samsung, but this was $200 off and only $50 more than the Samsung I was looking at buying.
The 50" is a VA panel and only does 60 Hz. Since I am using this as mainly gaming (90%+), this is not an issue to me. The 55" is an IPS panel at 120 Hz for your standard TV stuff and then the larger panels are VA that do 120 Hz for TV as well.
I did play some Diablo 3 and Grim Dawn already while watching some YouTube clips that are 4k. Everything has been great so far.
