The VP42HDTV does have a tuner...Originally posted by: Preyhunter
That would be a tough choice between the Panny and the Vizio. The Panny has name recognition and HD tuner built in, but chances of getting one are likely very slim. The Vizio does not have the built in HD tuner (mine doesn't, maybe they do now?), but does have detachable speakers, Costco warranty, and possibly better chance of actually getting one.
Glad I don't have to decide!
That's sad.Originally posted by: jstnz28
Going to Cosco to return my 36 Toshiba non-HD tv I bought 4 years ago for the VP42HDTV. Was shocked to find out that you can return anything at Cosco (except computers) any time for a full refund as long as you have the receipt. Just went with a co-worker to return a 3 year old TV and they handed him a little over 2,000 cash with no questions asked. Life time warrenty on a plasma from Cosco is Super Hot for me.

Glad I went to Costco. Much hotter deal IMO for the Vizio VP42 in that I only had to stand out in the cold for a couple hours to be the 5th person in line... as opposed to Best Buy and Circuit City where reportedly people had been camped out since 2AM or earlier (heard on the radio that some BB in the midwest had a guy in line there at 8PM Thanksgiving night...sheesh).

They might already be changing this. The guy behind me in the line on Friday was a Costco employee at another store (had to shop at that one and wait in line to be "fair" to the customers... neat!) and he mentioned something about "coming back in 364 days" ... so maybe Costco is changing its "lifetime of the product" policy to an exchange/refund within 1 year. I agree that this can get abused.Originally posted by: rmrfhomeoops
Although I try not to be self-righteous about what people do with their Costco membership (because they paid for it); nonetheless, as more people taking advantage of this policy just because they can will eventually cause Costco either go out of business or revoke this policy.
