VMware trouble. Cant connect to guest OS.

I have a LAMP server running in VMWare. The OS's IP address is 192.168.248.1 which I set to match the Hosts (VMWare Network Adapter VMnet8) which should work for NAT at least. I can not ping the virtual os nor can I ping my host computer from the virtual OS.

Host IP is: 192.168.0.103
Guest OS: 192.168.248.1

I have tried Bridged, NAT, Host Only. Nothing is working. I have a wireless and a wired network card on the host machine.

Goal is to get it where I can access it from any machine internally.


What do I need to do?

Don't set the host's interface to the same IP as the guest, you can't have two interfaces on the same network with the same address.

I got it. I had my other domain info (nameservers, gateway etc) setup. Took those out of resolv.conf and network and set it to DHCP in ifcfg-eth0 and removed the other network settings.

Works on the local machine at least.
