I never got anything from them (never even called them). You think I should go for a couple of free phones?

I ordered my Gizmo on Friday, March 11.
I received the Gizmo and set it up on Friday, March 18.
It's now Friday, March 25, and I still can't get incoming calls.

Is this normal? I've heard that it takes 10 days, but shouldn't that be 10 days from when I ordered it?

Am I just getting impatient, or should I start calling customer service?

(P.S. Forget AT&T's CallVantage! It's EXPENSIVE and customer service BITES!)

Does your phone ring with incoming calls to your "household number"? Mine did, but would seem like dead-air when I picked up. It turned out being a DoS threshold setting on my firewall. I upped some threshold settings, and all was fine thereafter.
I've heard that some people have to wait up to 10 days for incoming, though.

No, it doesn't ring. When I dial the number from another phone I get the "this number is not in service" message. My question is, When does the "10 days" start? From when you order the service or from when you set it up?

YES!

I brought my gizmo and one uniden phone to toronto's hotel, pluged gizmo into hotel room's free internet access, it worked in 10 seconds! called my neighbor in Michigan and brother in Dallas, they couldn't notice I was in other country. Also connected my laptop to gizmo's LAN port, my laptop got internet access right away too.

so this gizmo should work ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD as long as internet access is available, no doubt about that.

Does anyone know if there are any codes to place the Sunrocket gizmo into data mode or anything like that (*99 for Vonage)? I am trying to connect with my Hughes Direct Tivo series 2 for my daily updates, but no luck. The various forums are scarse with Sunrocket users. I have tried various fixes like 212 or other area codes, a reversed DSL filter, etc. Slow-down codes (,#019) don't work with series 2 tivos. I would prefer not to plunk down $40 (yes I know i can get it cheaper on fleabay) for an antiquated serial dialup modem, but I will if I must. I would also prefer not to do the PPP thing. I know the daily call is not necessary except for setup and updates, but don't want to see the nag screen every day either....

Any insight would be appreciated.

It takes up to 15 business days for incoming calls. You've waited 6. Keep waiting!

Also, my home line is now completely dead, but my SR phones don't ring on that number and I have no info on my account management that indicates that my number has been ported over. :|

Yep, I feel that is B&S BS too. Which was my reason for making steam at the rep (Justin).

Now that my experience is well-documented here and at the *other* forum I'm gonna be a total blister on the prophesised posteior of SR less I get what I thought I was signing up for.

Called SR and Justin verified I was given the above $199 option but would regardless have to accept the monthly plan. After I got a little nasty about how I was going to make comments in a number of forums and that he should escalate my call to someone who could make a decision, Justin went offline for a few minutes, then returned and stated that SR relented and that my account would be referred to *headquarters* and assured that I would receive the annual billing plan.

Why not just cancel within the 31 days, and then sign up again under the $199 PLAN?

It seems I got a better deal than what is intended under the $199 plan - namely the Signature plan and the free phones.

Stop me if I'm wrong, as I'm not about to think I know more than the really informed AT audience (in general and especially in this heavily tracked thread , but I *think* the unlimited US AND Canada calling, and the unlisted numbers for FREE, is more than what is being offered on the $199 plan.

He did get a little better than the advertized plan. He entered the code for the free phones. This is not advertized, although I'm sure just about everyone on these boards got the same deal....

No, you got the same stuff that you'd get under the $199 plan.
I'd cancel now, keep the phones, then sign up again in 2 weeks under the $199 plan and get two MORE phones!!

I'm a little pissed at SunRocket right now. Still waiting for my home number to port, but the main issues is I can't receive or make calls. I get a dial tone, dial, and then it just silent after that. When I recieve calls, it rings, you answer it, and it's silent again. The phone you call on just keeps ringing. I've have IM'ed tech support several times and it's still not working. Tech support never called me like they said they would till I complained at builditbetter@sunrocket.com. Next day I got a call from the tech support. It's been over 5 days and still no resolution. I hope this isn't the type of service I get when my home number ports over.

Update -- There solution was to put it before the router. It have been working fine behind the router for 2 month.

You may need to look into MAC spoofing TotalEclipse..... Or you can keep it front of the router, but I prefer to have it behind with good QOS software.....

My brother and brother in law in Dallas got incoming calls right after they pluged gizmo into their router, no waiting at all. I waited about 10 days which is normal. I was wondering how come there is no wait in Dallas... anyone knows why?

Texas is suing Vonage Texas is suing Vonage over the activation of 911!

Don't know why Texas and Denver are activated so quickly. Mine started almost immediately. I suspect lots of others have started within minutes, also.
(Probably because the sun always shines in Colorado - nearly 70°, yesterday.)

My line was live from the moment I plugged it in as well. Guess I was lucky. It wasn't a big deal to me though because I have to keep my POTS line until it gets ported over anyway.

some phone numbers are "preactiviated" and work immediately. others have not been provisioined yet, and take the 10 days to be provisioned.

lol - I'll wait until I actually see something from SR b4 canceling, like a charge against my account. How long does it take to see the first charge, annual or monthly? I'm kinda surprised not to see anything yet...

"SunRocket supports fax transmissions, through the use of the T.38
standard for real-time fax over Internet Protocol networks. However, sending
and receiving fax transmissions is not 100% reliable with SunRocket or any
other Internet phone system. Some fax machines may not be compatible with
the gizmo, and SunRocket cannot guarantee that fax performance will meet
your needs at this time. SunRocket is working to improve fax support,
reliability and performance in the months ahead.

We plan on offering second lines before the end of the year. This is a
high priority for us."

sunrocket is great - even tried it on my brother's dsl line - clear as a lan line

So far I am happy with my Sunrocket service. 95% of the time its as good or better than my POTS line.. and considering it cost about 1/3 of what I used to pay, its a fair tradeoff. I am currently waiting for my POTS number to be ported over.

I do wish they'd get the Caller ID thing straightened out though. But, names will show up if you put them into your address book... so I populated that with the people that call the most often.
