I am at the "Confirm order" page, but I have not seen where to enter a referral yet. Do I enter a referral later in the process?

The field is on the first page of sunrockets site, where it says "Have a promotion code?"
That's where it goes.

And thanks!

Ok I finally figured that out, but I wanted to get the $20 month to month service, but the referral code seems to be for the 25 month to month or the 199 annual. Does SunRocket give referral credit for the $20 month to month plan?

I think my CID is fixed. I called home from each of my clients' offices I was at today and the CID showed up correctly.

Anyone else's that wasn't working previously working now?

I have never gotten a referral credit to work with the $19.99 deal. I tried with 2 that I referred, but they wouldn't give me any credit. I suppose it would probably be a little too much. Someone could conceivably pocket the phones AND $25 credit, wait 31 days (and pay $19.99) and then cancel. They are already losing what they have in the phones on that customer.

Referral code for the $19.99 deal is WBFOGQ It includes the free phones.

I can't believe no one else has encountered this, but my only problem with SunRocket has been with Bittorrent. That is, when the Gizmo is connected between cable modem and router, my torrent downloads slow to a crawl. That's most likely because the necessary ports aren't open on the Gizmo.

Any suggestions? From reading some of the posts here, it appears that I could put the Gizmo behind the router. But does that setup work okay? I'm a bit reluctant to monkey with a setup that works (except for BT, of course .

TIA!

Okay, looks like I can enable port forwarding by accessing the Gizmo directly. Here's the straight skinny from SR tech (very fast reply to e-mail, btw):

"Yes open a internet explorer window and put 192.168.251.1 in the address field
it will ask for a password it is "welcome". In order to do this though you will
need to make sure the Gizmo's LAN port is connected directly to the PCs
ethernet port then you can remove it once the configuration is done and put
back to your current setup."

Another tech had told me on Friday that they were rolling it out that morning but it caused a problem so they had to roll it back. Maybe these other messages that weren't there before are their way of testing the system nationally before they are putting Name Caller ID on again.

I think you are right. That is what I was told. I am really looking forward to this working soon. What is everyone seeing coming up?

"Wireless Caller"
"Talk"
"Anonymous"

They could probably have some fun with that...

How many of those are business days? Honestly, I had problems at first as well, and complained, but your negativity is bordering on trolling.

The Guinness Book Of Records lists 18 days with no calls as the true record for loneliness.

How long did you initial incoming call activation take?

I was lucky with instant activation THough thats because I didn't have to port which is the delay most people experience.

Does the call Log work yet? It does for the old main number but not for my transferred number or the signature number. I even tried the delete voicemail trick a few weeks back and that did not work either. Also, how long has it taken for level 2 tech to get back to anybody or do they just fix the problem and not say anything? There level 2 tech support seems to be really slow.

Help me here, guys!

With this type of service can you recieve calls from ANY phone .i.e., they can use thier regular land line ??
Can you recieve faxes?
With this and high speed cable - I would be able to ditch Ma Bell entrely - is that right ??
When someone calls you, do they dial a regular # with area code?
Does the sould quality while talking come anywhere close to a land line phone?

If yes on most of this - WOW ...I am gonna do it!

Same here, and they won't (or can't) fix it. I've tried calling, sending email to builditbetter@sunrocket.com, whatever. They promise it will be fixed immediately but it's still not working. Going on 2 months now. Their CS is not very good now, honestly. I get different responses on questions all the time, and as you said their level 2 is completely overwhelmed. The last time I called about the log issue, the level 1 guy just came right out and said that they're having a lot of problems with different stuff. I didn't ask, he volunteered. Sounds like the typical VOIP startup that is just getting too much too fast because the deal is so much better.

NEOS-

Help me here, guys!

With this type of service can you recieve calls from ANY phone .i.e., they can use thier regular land line ??

YES

Can you recieve faxes?

YES. There are a couple of ways to do this. You could connect a fax machine to your phone line and make the signature number your fax line. Set it to distinctive ring and match your fax to respond to that ring. You are now ready to receive and send faxes. However, this setup does not work for ALL fax machines, but most. Chances are it will work for whatever fax you have, but is not 100%. The other method is to setup a free fax number at www.k7.net (you will get your own fax number with a 206 area code) then forward your Sunrocket signature number to that number. You can set k7.net up to forward all faxes to your e-mail account for easy viewing and printing (or discarding.)

With this and high speed cable - I would be able to ditch Ma Bell entrely - is that right ??

YES. It still is advisable to have a cell phone, as most people do, just in case. All VOIPs are reliant on your Internet connection to be up and running. If your Internet connection is down for any reason, so is your phone service. Same with your electricity. In addition all VOIPs have occasional outages themselves during which you wouldn't have access to your phone. So, have a cell phone handy for those few occasions and you can ditch Ma Bell. A caveat: If you rely on a home security system the security company may require you to keep at least a cheap outgoing metered phone line.

When someone calls you, do they dial a regular # with area code?

YES

Does the sould quality while talking come anywhere close to a land line phone?

YES, absolutely.

If yes on most of this - WOW ...I am gonna do it!

Call log-

Personally I am not in a hurry to have my call logs fixed. I was told by CS that as long as my Call Log for the outgoing number does not work yet I can't be billed for any international calls. In other words, the $3 int'l call limit does not exist for those who don't show an Outgoing Call Log. It doesn't matter which country and whether it is to Cell Phones or landlines. To most who make a lot of international calls the choice is easy between unlimited calling to any country or getting the Call Logs fixed. So, PLEASE don't make too much noise about the Call Logs for the benefit of those who make international calls. Thanks.

Message Screener-

Instead of the Message Screener Software from Sunrocket you can download another application which works very well with Sunrocket. It is UReach's Call Manager and it has more features than Sunrocket's Message Screener software:

- Call Forward to a number of choice

- Response (respond with a number of preset recordings)

- Voicemail (send call directly to voicemail)

You even have a choice to type a message that, when chosen, is played to the caller via TTS voice translation. Plus you can have calls forwarded immediately to the number of your choice if you enable "Presence detection" where the software checks whether someone is active on the computer and if so routs calls in accordance to that choice.

Enter your Sunrocket number in the ID window (format xxx-xxx-xxxx) and your voicemail password into the PW area. It replaces the Signature Message screener you downloaded from the Sunrocket site and works quite well. Click on Download here:
