I think that all you have to do is say your gizmo is slowing down your downloads. everyone at the help line seems to know about it. One guy on the Philippines help line said that Innomedia came over and trained them on the new Gizmo. so it sounds like they might be switching to this model.

I continue testing the SR -- still a little skiddish about giving up my Verizon. Wife recently asked her family how it sounded on the other side of the phone.
They indicated a few times that when she called, and they answered -- they would say hello a few times before she actually heard them.... at this point, not sure if this is a big issue or not, as it hasn't happened on other calls.
Anyone else with this issue -- possible resolution?
The answering machine is on the S/R web site.Originally posted by: NYCFella420
Can anyone comment on these new phones you get for free. Do they have an answering machine built in? or do you have to have an external additional answering machine.Thank you for your answers in advance!

I've sign up with Sunrocket, install is very easy but my download is slower. I download from newsgroup average 2.7Mbps, before I can download 4.2Mbps.
Any of the Sunrocket user experience the caller ID doesn't work? I try to call my own cellphone and it shows the caller as unknown, and when i call sunrocket number it also shown as unknown. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Your post should come with the caveat "for me" as in "SR may be inexpensive, but it is very trouble prone...in my case." As you can see in this thread, nobody else has your issue. That does not make it less real for you, but the point is that your issue is CLEC related and has to be taken care of at the local level. It is not a national issue that has befallen anyone else here, and looking at other forums it has not been an issue outside a very few. Sorry you are having that particular issue, but it certainly does not mean that the service is "trouble prone" on a general level if your local CLEC screws up the way they have.

Let me guess. Most likely Cingular cell. Sometimes happens with T-mobile cell as well. These cell providers are very slow to update their number database, so new numbers aren't "understood" until those databases are updated. It is something that has to be done from the cell provider's end, although SR may be helpful with speeding the database update up.
