I had Vonage and went back to my local carrier. The voice quality was great but I had a problem with the provided Linksys Router - it kept dropping data connections even when the phone was not in use. I was unable to FTP large files (>15MB) without a dropped connection and my RDP connections usually dropped after about 5 minutes.
When bypassing the phone router and using my trusty Linksys BEFw11S4, Internet service was fine.
I tried to RMA the router. At first they tried to blame my ISP. Once I convinced them to send another router, they cancelled the service on the current router so I was without phone altogether. In order to restore the service on my defective router, they had to cancel the RMA. Two diffrent support reps promised to create a new RMA but never did.
I cancelled last Sunday. Was given a confirmation and was told someone would be calling me back that evening with final details. It never happened and the service is still up.
Vonage - great features, good voice quality, horrible customer support. If you go with them, pray you do not have a problem. :disgust:
