scrubman, I think 3dfx is still a safe bet. Their stock has gone to hell but they are a 'real company' with sales, branding, and tech(bought gigapixel). Their going back to their roots of making chipsets, this will definately cost us less and provide more variety of card configurations.
Don't be too eager to line up behind Nvidia and proclaim 3dfx's death. We need these bastards competing with each other.
When the first Voodoo came out it was so revolutionary. Such beautiful eye candy. And it was not 500 bucks.
I want 3dfx to succeed because I am worried by Nvidia's pricing. What is up with all these new cards starting at 350 or even 500 bucks? That s**t needs to stop. Nvidia has got to justify their stock going from $10 to $90(split adjusted)in less than a year.
