Wie PC Games Hardware im entsprechenden Test schreibt, basiert das von ihnen getestete Referenzdesign auf 128 MB SDR SDRAM mit 5,5 ns Zugriffszeit. Getaktet werden Chip- und Speicher daher mit 183 MHz, im Vergleich zu den 166 MHz beim Voodoo 5 5500. Die Taktfrequenzen sind allerdings noch nicht endgültig festgelegt, bis zur offiziellen Ankündigung durch 3dfx bleibt der genaue Takt unbekannt. In den Treibern finden sich nebst den bekannten 2X- und 4X-Modi auch das schon vor einiger Zeit angedeutete 8X Anti Aliasing.

I'm sure alot of 3DFX haters may be surprised if the V5 6000 makes it to retail stores at a lower price than the GTS Ultra. I think this is going to happen. Watch and see.

Instigator, I know it makes it look better, and I only see a slight frame rate drop going from 1024x768 to 800x600 2x....but it doesn't look right. For some reason, it just like 'feals' slower.

Raging, I doubt its gonna be cheaper than an Ultra, just immagine the costs of that beast, 4 chips, 128 MB of 5.5 ns SDR, HUGE PCB, 4 fans, powersupply, all that stuff is gonna come at a cost.

I've had a 6000 on reserve since May or so. Knowing 3dfx though, I really didn't expect it until this fall but the reserve arrangement has allowed me to fund my bad habit a little at a time. It's nearly paid for now....just waiting for the release!
