VooDoo or DDR GeForce? Stability/Compatibility is main concern

Hey,
I need to buy a vid card for my girlfriend and I was looking at a Creative Annihilator Pro DDR w/TV out (oem version, retail don't have that). However, after seeing people bitch about GF cards and their stability I was considering a VooDoo3 3000 or a Matrox G400. She will play some games (or I will since her comp will be hella faster than mine, P3750 or 800 on an ASUS CUSL2 mobo =). My main concern is that she won't be able to run the software/games she will want to without a lot of driver hassles and tweaking. Besides that, image quality and speed within games are secondary. I hear VooDoo cards are great about this aspect but I have a TNT2 and I love it, it works like a charm, so who knows? I'm gonna pay 210 for the GF so I'm not willing to pay any more for a card (or I would get her that power sucking beast the V5500). Thanks.

You shouldn't have any compatability problems with the GeForce if ya running a Pentium 3. There used to be issues will the Athlon and GeForce cards but I think that has been solved with the recent release of a more stable chipset. (Can't remember what it's called, being an Intel fan that is)

I have no such stability problems. IMO stay away from the V5500 now that ATI is on the block and nVidia's GF/GF2 rulz supreme at the moment.

personally i tried the voodoo 3000 and the tnt 2 and found the matrox to be far better for quality but i havent compared it to the gforce. you want a great image quality board then the g400 is the way to go and i have had no problem playing games with it.

May I recommend a voodoo3 3500TV? The TV tuner is a nice bonus for somebody who doesn't use the card primarily for games.
