I was refering to Best Buy. Best Buy has it for $99 and OD [ Office Depot ] has it for $129. After Pricematching, the price goes down to $82 and there is a $30 mail-in rebate which brings the price down to $52.

I went this morning to OD and I was ready to buy the video card, but when they called Best Buy, the Voodoo 3 3000 PCI was already sold out which means no price-match

I will be going to another Office Depot Store tomorrow though.

BTW, I didn't show them any ad, they just called Best Buy after I told them about their price.

That might be the problem. Whenever I price match at Office Depot, I bring the ad from Best Buy (or other competitor) in with me. It has been over a year since OD called the other store to verify that the item was in stock. Typically, they just give me the mark-down after looking at the ad and the date on the sale flyer and I'm out of the store in 5 minutes.

$30 x 1.55 = $46.50

does BB still sell them for $99.99, They said that it's a mistake that they plan to clear up this week. Since everyone else (curcuit city, compusa, OD, OM) sell it for $129.99, I think that bestbuy might have cleared that up on the second of July, which was sunday, they were on sale all of LAST week.

Tell me if they still sell it for a great price like this. They don't print it in ads because they screwed up, notice that the v3 3k agp is still 129.99, while the pci is the same price as the PCI of the v3 2k, so I think that they made a mistake on all the pci's in general.

Yes, and 1 + 1 = 2. Why are you dividing the OD price by 1.55? The way price matching works, OD will subtract 155% of the difference. So you take the difference, multiply that by 1.55, and subtract the result from the OD price.

Anyone know that if I buy the voodoo3 3000 PCI/AGP retail box from any store like buycom or BB, I can get the rebate from 3dfx. Is that true? (buycom doesnt tell me how to get the V3k rebate)

I just downloaded the rebate form (PDF) from the 3dfx site. It applies to any Voodoo 3 2000, 3000, or 3500 retail package.

Go to the site, click on products, then Voodoo 3 and you'll see the $30 rebate listed on the right.

To the guy who said that OD dropped the instant rebate thing. I don't think it's instant rebate, just the price after the 3dfx rebate, that's how it was last week, then again, I am sure that lots of people tried to 155% pricematch with them, so they decided that if someone asks, then it would be $30 off, this way they don't lose more than $15 extra.

It'a all BB's fault, because everone knows that the agp/pci are the same price, but in BB case, the PCI's are $30 cheaper than the agp, so you know that's got to be a mistake, besides, they sell the v3 2K for the same price, which no one ever does....

I just been to my local OD to pricematch the BB deal and lo and behold...OD had a yellow tag infront of the V3 3K pci card indicating that it was now priced at $99 after a $30 instant rebate. OD is really fast now with matching the price of their competition...bad for me and you. I should have gone earlier...155% price guarantee is a sweet thing if you get it.
