Noticeably better 2D quality in the 4500 compared to the V3-3500 which it replaced (don't play many games on that machine -- didn't need the tuner). I'm pleased.

Hey, everybody, I picked up one of the v3's since there were no more v4's.

My problem, the box, and the way it's packaged, was different. I have bought many cards in the past, but this card was packaged backwards.... THe seam that runs along the top and sides, ran along the sides and bottom, I dont' know what to make of it, and it comes with a rebate sticker that expired but I don't know if it's remanufactured, used or what not.

I also noticed little lines on the pci pins... Is that normal, as if it was scratched up by someones pci slot.

Definitely used. Try it out.. if it works, I wouldnt worry about it. Someone probably just decided they needed the money instead or something..

Good Luck finding the Voodoo 4 card...the 4 ODs in my area are all sold out...they have the V3 cards only and are still priced at $78.99.

I've noticed lines on the connectors of PCI and AGP cards that were brand new. Maybe the manufacturer tests them or something.

did you really? I mean, it's hard for people to notice that stuff, unless they sat there, examining the fine quality of the voodoo card, it's hard to see those little lines in between the pci pins.

It is a good card, when paired with a celeron system or p2 400 mhz or better, but anymore, the lack of support for drivers and the 16 bit color really sucks for all games.
