Dear all,

My friend would be coming back from US, and I was wondering if I can get a Graphics card or processor or any PC component which would be cheap compared to the price here.
My budget is around 15K. Not more than that.
I saw that HD7870 2 GB is around $200-230 range. that is just 12K INR.
If i buy the same card from India it will go till 20K.

Are there any good GFX card which can come under this budget.
If he has to ship it, any idea how much that would be costing..

So your budget is $280. Shipping would probably not make this worthwhile, just have him bring it in this luggage. At that price point 7870 is probably your best bet. You can push it up a bit by getting a GHZ version. I have seen the VisionTek 7950 for $300.

Vineeth, what is your location?

If you are in Mumbai, some of the shops on Grant Rd can match US prices, and even beat them sometimes. I know because I helped my nephew build a nice rig last October, and I was doing a real-time cost-compare. The only item that was much costlier was the LCD monitor - I could have got something better and cheaper in the US, but transportation would have been an issue.

I'm not sure, but the other metro cities might have similar shops. Smaller towns - not so much.

I Live in Bangalore. When I checked online prices it was high. Not sure how far it would if i go to a local store here. but i really dont think it will match prices in US here in Bangalore.
