I posted this over at nzone too. Think I'll get more feedback here. Just wondering if others can confirm or explain this.
OK, this is wierd. With 77.76 and 77.77, I am able to get vsync working in CS:S using the coolbits 8 regedit and creating a custom game profile for hl2.exe. I like playing with SLI AA8x. I created the profile with Vsync on, Triple Buffering on, SLI AA 8x. Vsync didn't work! I went back into the profile and selected Split Frame Rendering and put AA back to application controlled. Vsync worked! I went back again to the profile and selected SLI AA 8x. Vsync still worked! SLI AA8x seems to be working too.
So what the heck is going on? I'm not sure, but vsync only works for me after selecting Split Frame Rendering once in the profiles. Maybe this will help someone. I verified that it worked exactly the same with both 77.76 and 77.77. I am using chipset drivers 6.66.
