VZW: Starting to offer $70 "unlimited everything" a'la Sprint

EDIT: Might leave big red after this contract is up but I want to go to a W7 phone so whoever I go to will depend on the phone/plan.

Current plan is 40 for voice, 10 for text, 30 for data, 6 for insurance and with taxes/shit it's 94/mo.

I use maybe 1/4 of my allowable. I have a work phone (push to talk from Nokia) that I get through the company. I'd switch over to that only except I won't have my old number and I've had my ass saved way too many times by the data plan to go back to a regular "dumb" phone as my daily user. Anyone got a suggestion?

Seriously if my phone bill was anywhere near $100, I would not own a smartphone. I'm on a family plan, so my bill comes to $63/month for a smartphone.

The loyalty plan is a special offer and its only for folks who have been on a year and are threatening to cancel service.
The $15 data plan is a standard thing as of last week and its available to everyone. You should at least be able to get that.

Looks like we should have gotten in on this over the weekend, when at least certain CSRs were allowing it to everyone. Now that word has gotten out, they must have cracked down.

Bah. It would only have been useful for allowing F&F on my plan anyway... Don't use texts.

work discount, 18% on phone plan 20% on data plan,

actually i only have 300 min cause I'm grandfathered in to a plan that no longer exists, however they keep telling me i could get 450 mins for the same price. i keep telling them no

my bill is 62 and change every month

if you do the math the work discounts only saving me like $15

I called today and was told my corporate discount could not be applied. It still would have been cheaper for me even without the discount, but anyone that is using a blackberry for corporate use cannot change to this plan, so no go for me.

I called and switched yesterday. They said I could use my 22% corporate discount but it would only apply to the main line (the $139.99 piece).

Fuck, that right there is reason to switch to this and I'll be calling today.

I get right about the same corp discount which is $30 off basically (comes to $109.20), add in my 2 other lines (4 on the family share), and I'm at $150 compared to the $180 I'm at now. I'll take a $30 discount.

Just switched over. It's $156 for me with 4 lines, down from $187.15 for the most recent billing cycle. I'll take a $30/mo savings.

EDIT: My corp discount of 22% did get applied to the primary line still which brings it down to ~$110 for family plans. Then you still have to add the $20 for each line over the 2nd.

Also, it is permanent as long as you stay on the qualified plan (i.e. I can't drop down to 700 minutes). Regarding 4G, the CSR didn't know about the pricing. He said that they hope the prices won't be much more because they did stuff like this promotion. From the conversation it sounded like 4G will work on this though, and you won't have to switch to a new "plan" (just adds a surcharge type deal). I'm guessing it will just be a bit more expensive for each phone, and done on a per line basis (not like this where it's lumped into the primary line).

Also, heads up the CSR stated they are pulling back on the emails due to the media doing articles and stuff (so the offer might end soon), but if you're an existing customer it can be done. If interested I'd call sooner rather than later.

Thanks. Just called and switched plans. It will not reduce my bill much, but it will triple my minutes. With the 10 friends/family number that will be virtually unlimited minutes. Get unlimited texting now as well. This is good deal.
