W2K Sever Active Directory Help...

Hi...

I need to set up a W2K Server machine for use in our lab, basically as a central file server to store and maintain all of our research data.

If anyone can point me to some good and relatively simple information about the best way to set this up, it would be greatly appreciated.

Basically, all computers with access to this server (within a larger network, so I'm thinking I need to create a new domain with the server as the root) will have shared access to a set of folders, and each user needs to have a private folder on the server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Reply here or PM please.

Please PM me and I will be able to help you with a Active Directory structure. There are different routes you can go with it. Active Directory is real flexable, but also real easy to screw up.

I just finished doing this in my lab. You don't necessaryly need the AD and if there is a possibility of the rest of the site going to w2kserver and ad I would suggest against it as it is very difficult to change the tree and forest in w2K.. If you need anything PM me`
