That has a D pillar and the lift-gate goes all the way down to the floor. Meets my definition of a wagon.

But its not a wagon. There is not "storage" behind the rear seat. There's a foot, maybe two, of room, thats not storage, thats leftover car. Storage would be a big enough area to put a few large dogs or 4+ large pieces of luggage, not just a set of golf clubs or a few bags of groceries. Thats why the pic JLee posted fail as wagon status just like this.
My dad owned two wagons, the above mentioned Mercury wagon and then a subaru GL wagon that was truely a long wagonish car.

What is it that makes your personal opinion so much better than that of practically everyone else in the world, including Subaru?
A REAL station wagon. One of these fully restored is quite beautiful and comfortable for long drives.
