I'm on my own team!
I have an AtGames Legends Ultimate in my living room, but I've pre-ordered the X-men four player cab from A1U, with the presumption I'll be able to hack it to get Simpsons, Gauntlet, TMNT, and all the other 3-4 player goodness on it.

That's a beast of a cabinet! I had like six 1up's at one point lol. They're easy to mod with adapters, there's a HUGE aftermarket community for them, everything from light-up marquees to monitor upgrade kits. I added crazy stuff like a metal spinner, LED roller ball, etc. I want to get into virtual pinball next, but don't have the space in my current rental

MAKE IT STOPPPP!!!!!!!

Called, contacted, wrote to, emailed, asked, anything but THAT!!!!

It's my mission in life to see that phrase abolished from use for all eternity.

Wow really? I love reached out to, because then I can pick how to do it lol.

My pet peeve is "ask". It's right up there with "cool beans" & "my bad" - soooo many meetings with people going "what's the ask?" Me speak caveman too! What ask you want? Big Boss say that is BIG ask!

Heh, toss in "actually" too!

Actual replacement parts don't actually exist anymore on their or anyone else's actual website so I actually reached out to their actual general customer service number asking if they actually had any parts on the off chance they were actually hidden away somewhere.

Yeah, I love it, had to get a 5" riser so my wrists wouldn't hurt while playing since it only feels right to play standing up
I just put on some music in the background, set some LED bulbs in the room to color cycle, and it hits the high notes of the classic arcade experience! Except this time, there's beer

If you don't have an airfryer yet, pick one up! They make AMAZING wings! 30 minutes at 450F! Room lights + a zillion arcade games in a cab + fun food = a great evening at home!!

I bought a Little Giant ladder at Costco in...2013. OK for the money...but the fucking thing kept "throwing me." Happened to be at Costco one day...Little Giant was doing one of the roadshow events. The ladder they were selling was tons better than the one "on the shelves" at Costco...but at about 2.5x the price. Hell, I bought one anyway...and also ordered their extendable "plank" as well as the Little Giant "step stool." That thing gets used a LOT. The upgraded ladder hasn't "thrown me" since I bought it...and I use it pretty regularly.

Average people don't know but the quality of product from Lowes/HD isn't the same as from a supply house like Hughes. Plumber Bro would never install a faucet from one of those. Bad sign, he says the top quality product is now not so good. @Greenman and @herm0016 may confirm.

And, if it's something I use a lot or my health depends on it, I'll gladly pay more.

I can tell you for a fact whirlpool is not one of these types of companies.
Tend to agree but there are exceptions. Still using a Whirlpool refirg/freezer that died and was reincarnated enough times that the extended warranty company paid out and sent me a check for the full value of a new fridge. Since this one has kept working (sort of), I never bought the new one.

Definitely. I'll often pay a bit more for a product at a plumbing store over the "same" product from Home Depot or the local Ace Hardware store.

I know I've said this but... he was bitching about the highest priced Delta he could get had brass coated aluminum innards. So it's going to fail sooner rather than later and he didn't want his name on the work.

I think we've just hit the tip of the borked supply chain.

When I bought my first house about 13 years ago my dad bought me a Little Giant multiposition ladder. Fast forward to last weekend I used the ladder and snapped it back into 'resting' position and one of the plastic guides for one of the locks broke. The warranty is against manufacturing defects and I figured 13 years was a pretty good run to say that wasn't the cause. Replacement parts don't exist anymore on their or anyone else's website so I reached out to their general customer service number asking if they had any parts on the off chance they were hidden away somewhere. The reply I got was from their warranty department asking for some very general information - approximate year purchased and store I bought it from if I remembered. And now they'll be shipping me a replacement ladder!

Normally its a PITA to get a replacement if you have iron clad proof of a defect, the receipt from the purchase, registered the product within 30 days of purchase etc etc. so I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the quick response and the ease of the process

Yeah ... next time I'm ladder-shopping I'll know the brand to look for!

Even if the parts were identical, the advice usually available at the local plumbing supply if you run into problems is worth the higher price-tag by itself.

By that time, you'll pay someone.

There are certain advantages to living in an apartment.... all I need is a good step-ladder!

Oh and a good, strong escape-ladder in case of fire ... 3rd floor in this massive old house is a good 30 foot drop to solid concrete!

Problem is that these old school guys at plumbing houses, with 40+ years, are retiring or dying. Posted the water heater problem last week. The amount of knowledge in Bro's head is astounding....and going to be lost when he dies because he's too much of an asshole to work for.

Can you even find an escape ladder for that?

We have one but it won't fit over the sill. Wing it when the smoke is coming in, I say. Strap it to the bed frame.

The one I have is a Kidde and its 25ft from the top of the first rung... if I can't survive a 5 foot drop even onto concrete I don't deserve to live!

(fyi I also have a big knotted rope with a metal hook which is about 45-50 feet and will do in a pinch)

for some things that is true.

sprinkler system parts are for sure better and more expensive from a supply house. faucets, door knobs, stuff like that i often order online from build.com or similar as they can really get you set up with everything you need for a job and have all different combinations available.

I have been impressed with the kraus products as of late in the plumbing space.
