I gave up waiting and accepted the fact that I'll probably never buy a Vega card due to lack of availability and insane pricing.

Same, I gave in back in September and bought 2 1080Ti's for my new rigs because those were the only thing not insanely overpriced from the mining craze. Regretted not going Red, but here we are months later with still nothing worth buying. Incredibly frustrating.

As long as mining on Vega is profitable (which it is) either miners or scalpers selling on eBay to miners will buy out all the stock. My guess is we'll see Vega refresh before we see wide availability of Vega.

Managed to snag a Powecolor Red Devil RX Vega 56 from Newegg Today.

https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E1...0446076&PID=6163686&SID=jbyahhhbeq011rh100053

I saw it at 2:15 and it was gone by 2:33.
Under $700* too!

(*not including shipping )

There’s a few others that have come in and out of stock today at Newegg including the MSI aftermarket blower and an XFX AIO Vega 64.

(I went fanboy this time - so yes a 1080 would have been cheaper)

Post some benchmarks when you get it! Would love to see what kind of clocks it sustains or even how well it overclocks.

You did pay quite the premium for that sweet looking cooler, but it should blow away the reference baseline.

I will. It will still be a little while. The card is going into a Threadripper build and I think I have to send my Enermax AIO back. Found some droplets of coolant in the bag.

Technically I payed the premium for Vega. This card was $10 less expensive than a reference model I found on BestBuy

lol everyone who wanted Vega paid a premium.

There was a *brief* period of a few days where Newegg carried the reference Vega56 at or around $399 (MSRP). In retrospect, I should have bought some.

Awhile ago I read that it was going to be mid January for Vega stock start being more available. It seems plausible. AMD had to fill the Apple order before December. Then they needed to fill the Intel order before January.

Bummer news, AMD nixed their plan to refresh 12nm Vega.

Well my wait is over:

(Well almost. My Enermax 360mm cooler arrived with a leak so my build is now waiting on a replacement. Sigh. )

Good looking card, to me the best looking Vega so far.
I wish I had the same luck as you, no PowerColor Red Devil vegas left.

Can you tell us about the cooling, if its noisy? from the reviews it does really good in silent mode.

I just got the machine to boot. I’ll be installing Windows tomorrow. My plan is to do a mini review of the card for ATVC&G and one for the Threadripper 1900X in the CPU forum.

It’ll probably be a little while yet until I can get to it.

Ran a few benchmarks. 7017 in Time Spy. (Graphics 6769). This is with the standard Vega bios and not the cool and quiet or OC bios. (Red Devil has three bios’s). CPU and GPU at stock settings.

Couldn’t hear the fans over my AIO fans (I still need to adjust those)

Temps never got above 55C. Clock speeds bounced around 1550-1580.

Thanks for reporting back. The 1767RPM fan speed is disappointing to hear for me personally. It is certainly not bad for such card, but I have very little tolerance for PC noise and that would be too loud for me. I guess I'll be waiting for Polaris successor on 7nm process.

Once I get everything under control I’ll run some undervolted tests with a custom fan profile if possible. I’ll use the DB sound meter on my phone to get a better idea of how loud it is.

Sapphire NITRO was in stock briefly, as notified by Newegg, but was swiftly sold out once again.

Huh? Just buy a card with a different quieter cooler, set a custom fan profile, power limit, undervolt, move the case further from your ears and take advantage of the physics of sound propagation through air.... there are a million things you can do now that don't involve waiting 2 years. My MSI Armor 1080ti is totally inaudible even at full tilt, for example.
