So has anyone seen an aftermarket RX 56 or 64 anywhere?

I really need one.

I saw one powercolor vega 64 available in canada on the weekend, it was selling for more than a 1080Ti. Vega is officially dead IMO. No way they are viable option at 1080Ti and greater pricing.

The boat has sailed on vega, if you didnt get one while AMD was bribing retailers to sell them at MSRP at launch then there is no point in getting one now. Grab a 1080 or Ti for cheaper or wait out volta.

i believe the proper expression is: "the ship has sailed..." but I hear you. except those with Freesync monitors probably don't want a 1080 or ti?

having said that though, the pricing inflation is pretty ridiculous; people are buying them up for almost twice MSRP--even the reference models. I cringed when I pulled the trigger at just over 600 bucks and that was after waiting 2 months. the low stock and high demand literally screwed everyone over. from using Vega for awhile now, there's no way I'd spend more than $500 on a card, which is an impossible feat right now.

I’m willing to wait a few more weeks as I’m still collecting parts. If there isn’t some reasonably priced stock by then I guess it will be 1070Ti/1080 time.

I just couldn't wait and got me a 1080ti and just recently a 1080. Wanted to build an all AMD system but oh well...

Looks like the first 56 cards are out. Sapphire and PowerColor seem pretty big improvement in terms of thermals and noise.
Im feeling more like the Red Devil, looks like a solid cooler... what do you guys recon?

Right now 56’s and 64’s are being resold on EBay and Amazon for even more than that.

I wonder where the hell the stock is? Are yields really that bad?

Probably low on HBM & why should AMD push to make many of them?

They seemingly can't make/ sell them at a price making them objectively worthwhile vs Pascal & have only until next spring until they're truly buried by NV's next gen, so no one will want to build up quantities of stock.

I don't think it's yields at this point. AMD needed to fill the Apple order. I believe almost everything was going to them because of the early issues. We should start to see more volume now that Apple has launched their products. Then again AMD has said they are refreshing Vega on 12nm. They probably don't want these current cards on the shelves when a more competitive product could fill them.

Great... more efficient Vega cards. I'm sure the mining scum will just ignore those.

Yeaa its depressing.
Considering how enormous amounts of money there is in the handling of money if this mining doesn't come to an end buying gfx will be sad for years.

Crypto currency valuation is crashing hard right now. Hopefully this is a permanent or a very long lasting trend.

The only time, multiple Vegas were available for several weeks (about a month and half ago) at MSRP was when miners had stopped buying GPUs. As long as the valuation of these coins stay below the point of mining difficulty curve, where GPU mining is profitable, the cards should show up in stock.

they were actually never a really good value...

The two days Newegg had them at $399 and $499 wasn't too bad in my opinion. Especially the 56. I can't think of a scenario where I would buy a 64, regardless of price.

Yup. Up the power limit, under volt the core, and OC the HBM and the 56 is in the 1070ti - stock 1080 area depending on game and silicon lottery for $400.

At $700 - not so much.

Now if NVDIA would not be such a hard ass and adopt the open standard freesync a lot of freesync people would have jumped ship already, me included.

I was happy going back an forth before and bought the product with the best perfomance/price ratio, cared more about noise than power usage.

People tend to hold on to monitors much longer than video cards so people will be stuck to a brand.
I wonder if they will allow monitor companies to support both freesync and gsync that would be a win for consumers.

end of rant

I agree except Freesync is NOT a open standard, it is AMD's implementation of a Open Standard called Adaptive-Sync. I have 2 Vega 56 Nitro+ on the way (shipping error so not before xmas), replacing 2 pretty dated 4GB 290 PCS+ cards but they will not power any FreeSync monitors, I am waiting on much better screens than we have now (4K IPS/PVA 120Hz+, slim to no bezel). I am just glad I got them cheaper than the £590 they cost now, only £30 cheaper than a 1080Ti... yikes.
