7 bucks at a bar on 50 or whatever it was is incredibly cheap as well, even more so for Mr.important law firm wannabe guy.
WTF... ~16% on your bill is cheap... did you flunk your elementary school math or are you one of those waiters with a false sense of entitlement....
I'm not sure if he out of elementary school yet...
You're not sure if he out of elementary school huh?
So how much to retain your clearly awesome skills?
Depends on the nature of the work.
So how much do your jon's pay you for a bj?

All of this is why tipping sucks. I like to know how much I am spending/ how much the food costs etc, without worring about what percent I have to pay somebody for doing their job.
The Amercia's is the only place in the world where people EXPECT to be paid tips. Everywhere else, people are paid by their employer, tips are just that, for extra special service, not expected service!
My 2 cents

Why are you people still talking about this like it actually happenned ???
Until the OP show us the receipt, he probably made up or exaggerated the story.
He hasn't replied since we called shennigan on him.
No server is going to confront the customers on 15% and 20% tips.

She was WAY out of hand. Good servers never yell at customers for any reason.

I can't read the whole thread, but how big was the group? 1-2 people 7 bucks ok. Three or more I would have left at least $10. The more people in the group the more the tip should be.
Also who says she makes $7.50 an hour. She could make like $4 an hour and then she still has to split her tips with like the bartender and hostess etc etc.

I agree... OP was in the right to leave the tip he did, hell it was 15% and he didn't even get good service... but no need to mock someones wage.

Thank you sir
Question since I have never been off this rock:
Do wait staff get paid by the hour the same as any other job or do they rely solely on the money from Tips over there?
