Wal-mart allows people in RV's to stay overnight hoping they'll buy camping supplies. When I was on a road trip last summer, in a pinch we pitched a tent on the side lawn of Wal-mart near some RV's. Noone said anything - but the sprinklers were a PITA

That's ridiculous! It's not as if they're giving away HDTVs. Saving $20-$50 is not worth spending the night in a parking lot to me. Let alone for a week!

I am curious. If you live near a walmart that is open 24hrs what time does the sale start? Anyone know?

IIRC, they still close the night before and reopen. Of course, every Walmart is run differently (and believe it or not, other than ad prices, their prices on other merchandise differs from store to store as well)
But, at least at my local WallyWorld, they had a sign on the doors that they would close at some point on Thanksgiving and would reopen the next morning at 6am. (I can't remember the time they closed... 6pm or 8pm maybe)

Walmart's that are Supercenters are all open 24/7 except for Christmas day. The way black Friday is handled is the stuff on sale is on pallets wrapped in plastic and employees guard the stuff until the 6am opening time at which time the plastic is removed.

Walmart is split into different districts and the prices vary between them. Also stores constantly comp the competitors prices and change walmarts accordingly.

I often see RV's and Campers when visiting Brevard, NC: Folks use the WalMart parking lot as meeting grounds for multi-RV get-togethers, from the conversation I overheard.

I haven't noticed any signs against it, and I don't suppose it would become an issue until Xmas when the lot might come close to filling. The rest of the year it provides a large area for turning large rigs and always has controlled (stop-light) access to make exiting easier. You watch the "fleet" swell over a couple of days, then they all disappear like migrating birds... looks like an enjoyable lifestyle!

Thanks for the list, although I have a feeling it is incomplete at this time. (as some mentioned above) Not unusual considering the managers themselves don't know much about the sales until right beforehand. From my "connections" and past experience I'd guess: 27" cheap TV, eMachine bundled system, a cheap DVD player, (not as big of an item as last year though, it was their draw item) and the "big" push will be digital cameras, or so the stores are being told. Until the ads come out it won't be for sure...

btw, thanks to all the people (groups?) posting these deals. While there may be some bickering the info is still great.

I work at wal-mart, and I can tell you that this list is probably bogus. We were told that the BF list is kept secret until thanksgiving day. Also, it WILL be printed (not online only as suggested here). It will be in the T-giving day newspapers.

Starts at 6 am, but if yours is 24 hours, you can get there earlier, and stand in line. All cashier stations will be fully manned at 5:45 am.

Bumping this up. This ad is all true and nothing fake from what I see. I looked the ad over and it matches up.

The "blitz" items list is out at my small local store. The products have started arriving as well, so the list should be out for sure soon.

This list is on key for the blitz items sitting back in GM Recieving at my store. Trampoline, computer, the 20 inch tv/dvd combo and many of the other items. This looks like the real deal list. A co-worker printed out the list and showed it to a manager and he says it's real.

Thanks for the heads-up. Wonder why my store is being so secretive about it. Oh well.

Anyone know if you can order blitz items after midnite AM that Friday morning, online, then pickup at store?

I asked a guy at one of the Walmarts if the Game Boy SP will be on sale for BF and he said from 6-11am it will be $49 but the local Walmart employees are como se dice? "not too reliable". Most likely he confused it with the old version of GB Advance.

We'll see though.

Sorry dude, but if you work at Wal-Mart, then someone's lying to you. The list IS real......I'm holding it in my hands right now. It came as the mailer we get every Monday for Wal-Mart.

6-11AM specials are what's posted! The prices are spot-on, too!!

About the tool chest question...........it's a 3 ft. tall stacked unit, four-drawer lift-oof and handled top section and two-drawer, one lift-up panel bottom section. Guess it'd easily be worth the $44.36, no matter how cheap it is made.

There is a 27" TV listed for $178.88......flat screen, stereo, S-video input, front and rear audio/video jacks, MTS/SAP stereo tuner. No name shown, but look like an Apex from the picture.

The Game Boy Advance is just that, the Advance in either Glacier or Indigo. Doesn't say it's the SP. Says reguar price is $69.88.

So, all the bickering and nay-saying can stop......the list is real.

"Walmart's that are Supercenters are all open 24/7 except for Christmas day"

Not true. Not here nor the last place I lived. Both closed at 11.

Ours stayed open through Thanksgiving and the day after...........never closed. Neither did any around us.....Savannah, Augusta, N. Augusta..........none closed at all. They have signs on the doors stating they'll be open 24 hours.

The last BF I went to at Wal-Mart, about 5 years ago, the door-buster items were already in shopper's carts at 4AM. Thought I'd gotten there early enough to get a cheapie TV, but I was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY late it seemed.

"Black Friday" has been a label for numerous events. In this case it stands for the Friday after Thanksgiving, the top shopping day of the year with some great deals. Beware of other shoppers on this day though, as they can be ruthless and scare small children and the elderly.

The "black" in "black Friday" comes from "black ink". For many retailers, it's the only time of year where they can go from the "red" ink (losing money) to "black" ink (making money).
