This was the first black friday ive ever gone out for

This will be the last black friday I will ever go out for.

I was planing to hit walmart for the camera a few minutes after opening, I didnt mind if there was a buncha people infront of me, nothing I can really do about it, and i figured they would all just hit the dvd's and tv's. Boy was I in for a surprise. turned on the news shortly before leaving and guess what the local news crew decided to setup a live broadcast from? The same walmart I had planned to goto. Ok so where was a alot of people there allready. Alot is an understatement, I got their 15 minutes after 6, all parking spaces were taken. great.. so I fall in at 20 minutes after 6, make my way to the electornics dept which couldnt have been in a worse setup for a day like today. its in the center and its enclosed with only 1 small opening, for security most likely. after about 10 minutes of looking and overhearing the sales people, the cameras had been long gone. The users at anandtech might have all been scepticle about the camera, but the general mass public didn't care at all, they just liked the price.

Another ultra hot item that seemed to have missed the ad, there was a combo dvd/vhs player going for $39. I saw many people with 2 or 3 of them in their baskets. I would have picked up one as my parents need one but I knew it was absolute crap quality (made by soreson or something, one of the ultra basic generic brands) and I want the dvds to actually look like dvd quality.

im sticking to online shoping for now <g>

i just got back.. found a parking spot no problem.. was pretty crowded... ending up standing in line for 20 minutes behind 4 people.. and in front of a racist black person..

so that was nice... <sigh>.. picked up that 300watt 2/6.5" subwoofer thing, don't even know what i'll use it for but hey.. $14.99..

everything on sale looked like junk.. stuff probably won't last more than a year.. but good luck to the rest of ya

Errr, I think you may have confused something. Those combos are $99 and not $39.

For those who didn't hear, Wal-Mart racked up about $1.34 billion in sales on Friday, including sales at Sam's.

were they the only one? my guess is that they weren't
and calling someone "black" WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION is an act of racism/bigotry in ITSELF.
