Target health benefits are the same.......... Wal-Mart pays the same, Health benefits the same etc. The ONLY difference is that Target charges you a tad more for the products that they sell.

The other difference, is amazingly, that Wal-mart carries a few products that are "Made in USA", whereas Target has none.

Target even goes so far as to have an "Asian specialty" section - kind of pointless when all their products are made in China, anyway.

You know what I find really funny? Check out what the guy has for coverage at the local gas station..... A whole group of people thinks they see an injustice because of what wal-mart does? As a 16 year old a fellow cashier for a local chain of 7-11 TYPE stores was shot and killed during a robbery. The company had their own insurance and fighted the family for death benefits because he did not follow store policy during a robbery. EXCUSE ME but the next time your at the local quicky store ask the person behind the counter about their great medical insurance or the lady at McDonalds behind the counter. JEEZ at least Wal-Mart has something.....When did it become others responsibility for me to take care of myself?

I don't understand the "evil jerks" comment....perhaps it was merely sarcasm.....because at $65/month for a family insurance plan, even with a $1000 deductable, plus a pre-tax health savings plan, this is downright cheap! Of course I don't have all of the details of the plan, but as far as I'm concerned, this is nothing to complain about.

Apparently Wal-Mart is supposed to be completely subsidizing the absolute best insurance around for low skilled part time workers, even though no one else does anythign like that.

There the largest employer in the US and they make billions in profit. The statistics is like 70%+ of employees have medicaid (Govt Health insurance) because they are too poor to afford insurance. Companies like this should have some social obligation to help there employees. You cant have every company in America treat there employees as liabilities and use them as almost slave labor while the corporate brainwashing niple tells the sheep to follow!.

Why should there be social obligations?

A company will institute such programs/procedures if they feel that it is in the companies best interest.

Depending on the value of an employee, the company adjusts the responsiblity accordingly.

If the employee is not worth a high salary or the high benefit costs; why should the employeer jepordize the operations because some good two-shoes has a hard on for a successful company and are not being allowed to get a unfair slice of the pie?
