Went to Wally world today to get an end table. Price on the sticker says $39.76. I get to the checkout, price rings up as $44.99. OK.....time to go see customer service. All said and done, the $39.76 price was the right one, but while we were in line, 4 OTHER PEOPLE have the same problem with different products!!! Anyone else run into this problem or is Marysville, WA Wal-mart the only one doing this?

the funny thing about wally world is that only a select few prices are really good, but the rest is more expensive

The only time I ever buy crap at a Wally World or the like is if I move to a new City and need dishes, cookware, bathroom fundamentals, linens and all that jazz. Other than that, fvck off Wally! The rant; 2/10.

I only buy groceries from Wal-Mart when I'm at college. On a $100 lot at Publix or Food Lion etc... I get for $75 at Wal-Mart. They continuously beat the surrounding grocer's prices with "Save on Their Sale Price!" and a lot of the grocer's are going out of business because of them beating their prices to a pulp. For instance, a pack of oreo's at Publix is $4, however at WM it is $2.50! Sounds like nothing, but for the avid oreo-eater its priceless.

I agree with the above poster about some prices being cheap while others are "normal". I watched a documentary on how they try to set you up with a good bargain on the end or in the middle of the aisle. For instance, a $25 dollar microwave will be sitting in the aisle and you think, "hey thats a great buy! I bet the rest of the microwaves are cheap too, so I can get a great microwave for cheaper". It happens a lot, and they make money like that.

Exactly why I do my grocery shopping at Publix instead of WalMart. Not to mention Publix has much better service and is a better shopping experience in general.

there have been many study's that show all stores do this about 20% of the time. Stores where you buy a lot of items are worse. since you are busy putting stuff on the belt and nto watching as they get rung up.

I don't shop at Wal-Mart very often, but this has never happened to me. This has happened a couple of times to me at Target, and everytime I've told the chashier, and they say "ok" and change the price to whatever I say it was marked. No waiting for a price check, no going to the CS counter for an adjustment. I can understand why stores would avoid doing it this way, people would try to rip them off all the time. As I like target and want them to stick around, I have no interest in ripping them off.

They are passing out flyers at my local WalMart that talks about your porblem. They said that if you have that ahppen, go to CS and they will give you the price change + 10% or something like that.

We have it better here in Michigan. If a store overcharges, you get refunded the difference plus 10x the difference. Minimum $1, maximum $5. Consumer Protection laws FTW.

(Interesting to note, though, that last time I looked, the signs at Walmart said that they would give 3x the difference.)

There was a study that suggested the vast majority of Walmart shoppers can barely read or write so why not overcharge them? Not like most of em will catch it.
