As I was making a delivery to a public library today, I was just leaving and the last thing I glimpsed as I went out the door was a children's book with a black kid in floaties, smiling on it and the words "I Can Swim" above his head. That had me laughing all the way to truck.
Also, I'm reminded of a radio ad I heard for a restaurant back in February. They advertising for bigger plate lunches or something. We have one DJ here that does the voive-overs for a ton of local ads, so he's instantly recognizable. His voice comes on and I hear: "Are you a bigger-lover? Well at Blane's Drive-In, we're giving you bigger portions all week!" The dude literally said the phrase "bigger-lover" like 5 times during the ad. Could not stop laughing. Sadly, I never heard that particular ad again.
Hawaii's odd though. We have like 5 black people, so we're incredibly detached from that particular genre of racism.
