Walgreens has their store-brand batteries on sale for $0.99/6-pack with in-store flyer coupon (page 5)

They are their "heavy duty" carbon/zinc -- not the same as alkaline.
In fact, the backof the package says "...do not mix alkaline and carbon zinc batteries..."
