My understanding is that Houston is pretty liberal compared to the rest of the state.

Nope. Houston is a bastion of conservatism. Not quite so much as Dallas. But it's nowhere near the liberal mecca that Austin is.

Liberal? No... Urban? Metropolitan? Yes.

After dealing with FEMA and the Katrina refugees for the last five years I would say the city is more conservative than it was.

Austin is more liberal than Houston but all 3 major cities (Austin, Houston, D/FW) are on the liberal side.

Well, admitting that it sucks in the first place is a good first step.

I dont understand why they picked walgreens. The article says it takes the LVL 2 chargers 4 hours and the rapid chargers 30 minutes to recharge. Most people spend about 5-10 minutes at the most inside a walgreens.

Houston.

Another sign of TX emerging as the leading state in the Country!! after CA and NY failing miserable... All you TX haters, think again. Texas is really changing and fast and for good.

Actually, Texas has some great good and bad. It's doing some things right - and it's also the source of most of the corrupt energy industry donations against OUR law against global climate change (Texas lost). The good is pretty much outweighed by the single fact of Rick Perry being governor.

But while I'm not a sports fan, Texas seems to be rabid about its teams, so congrats on the world series win. (Cheap shot confession).

You are thinking of Austin although most large cities are usually more liberal than the rest of the state.

I was going to mention 'more evolved', and realized it was redundant, same thing. We have the same thing in CA, our 'red state' inland and rural, our coastal cities blue. Except San Diego, which has a strong conservative streak possibly related to the military presence.

Yeah, Texas has a lot of virgin land and no real regulation.
Things will be good for awhile. Until the population ages and the rivers run with cyanide and Texas needs to repair aging infrastructure.

Q: What's the only thing bigger than Texas?
A: The ego of its populus.
