Even so, the odds of it happening again are vanishingly small. They are aptly named as you'll never see them out and about. You pretty much have to stumble across one while cleaning the crawlspace or something.

There are quite a few here. I run across them indoors several times per year.

Haha, we have spiders all over our house. Last week my parents and I were watching About Smidt (sp?), and I huge brown recluse ran across the florr, my mother freaked out, but I just let it run to the other side of out living room. I figure that they're not hurting me, so why should I hurt them?

If it was huge, it wasn't a Recluse. They're pretty tiny actually.

Found this little ah heck in the sink, scared the crap out of me at first, then I went and got my camera. Amazing little creatures... I put him on a piece of paper and let him go, as spider kill other household pests.

I'm guessing it's a Wolf Spider of some sort, but I could be wrong.

Spiders are COOL!

Jugs

btw, Just for scale, the spider was about ½ inch long...

Lovely....

BTW, next time you find a spider, dump some shampoo on it... DOA

Fausto, recluses can get up to a bit over an inch...for someone with a phobia that's enough ;-)
I don't have a phobia myself, so I usually just put 'em outside.

BTW, I got tagged by a recluse too; almost lost a couple of toes to the little bastard.

So what freaked your mom out more, the spider or seeing Kathy Bates naked?

A Brown Recluse will put the hurts to you. I was bitten by one on the inside of my knee when I was younger. It's big-time pain along with a nasty looking bite area.

That's me. If I see any sort of spider no matter how big or small I run off screaming like a little girl.

Same....

My girlfriend and I were.. well, you know.. and I had a rather nasty looking one crawl across me.... I jumped up and did the funky monkey dance...

Ewwugghhhhh!!! :disgust: It was quite possibly the worst experience I've ever had in bed.

I still have it in a jar too, but my camera sucks too much to take a picture of it. :frown:

I feed the ants I find crawling on my desk to it.

If I remember correctly, spiders are the biggest phobia, even bigger than death. I personally think they are neat, though I'm not sure what I would do with a Tarranchula (sp?).

spiders, and snakes,i think are instinctive, along with any large animals, that sneak up on you!

It was just trying to show off that it's the dominant male in the area.
