Is this similar to the old point and click Sierra adventure games with some action sprinkled in? Looking for some slower paced games with a good story.

It's less of a traditional point-and-click adventure, and more of a story and dialog-driven "Heavy Rain" style of game.

That said, it's really good. If the rest of the episodes are as good as the first, then I'd say TellTale has a great series on their hands.

Thanks for the feedback, I went ahead and purchased it off steam just now. When I was a little kid I used to love these "Choose your own adventure" book series. This sounds a bit like that in an interactive game format.

Just finished this game, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great story, and they nailed the game play. I find the quick time events added a sense of reality to the overall experience. I actually felt like my life was in danger, and felt like others were in danger during these sequences. The characters were convincing, and added the atmosphere was consuming. Definitely can't wait until episode 2 comes out.

Kudos to you Telltale games.

Well I finally got the game to work by configuring it to run in Windows 98 mode. Some annoying sound stuttering but at least it works. Great little episode. Can't wait for the rest.

Definitely feels like a tv show episode or a movie with a good story and pacing with some actual character development.

Episode 2 is finally coming out this friday the 29th. I really enjoyed the first episode (despite it being more like an interactive movie rather than a game) and am looking foward to seeing the consequences of my choices in the later episodes.

I don't really think that your choices really have consequences.

For instance on the farm the kid that gets trapped under the tractor dies weather you help him or not. Not really sure about the drug store where you can help the reporter or the guy who is getting attacked though.

The choices you make will either change the way certain scenes play out later in the episode or affect what will happen in later episodes. So the choices do have consequences:

Although you can't save Hershel's son the dialouge does change afterwards and later on when you talk to kenny depending on your choice. There's other choices like that which affect the ways certain scenes play out. For example, after you find clementine if you leave the house during daytime you'll find Shawn and Chet and they'll give you a ride to the farm. If you leave during the night Chet will be a zombie and Shawn and a policeman will take you to the farm.

In the preview for episode two either Kenny or Lilly will yell out you for not choosing their side during the argument in the drugstore. Depending on who you saved only the reporter (carly) or the geek (doug) will be alive.

It's been so long, I almost feel like going back and replaying Episode 1.

I'm playing it, it seems like a good game but not what I'm used to like like if you're trying to push a zombie away from you it will tell you to press QQQQQQQQQQQQQ over and over until finally the zombie goes flying. My problem is that I don't type in qwerty, the game recognizes that I have a different computer layout but doesn't adjust for it and it won't let me rebind the keys so I have to use the arrow keys to steer the character around.

In fact when you go into controls there is no keyboard option at all just a xbox controller or something like that.

It does seem like a left for dead precursor though.

DayZ is probably the closest thing you can get for an authentic zombie apocalypse.. bugs aside.

I'm guessing the final episode will be here in less than a couple of months, probably late November. I'm glad I played it from it's release but I can see wanting to play all episodes at once. I'd still reccomend picking it up if you see it for something like 50% off. That way you'll have it and won't have to wait for a sale after all the episodes are released.

For me L4D is still the best "a few friends and lots of beer" type game out there right now, almost like the good ole' days of original UT.

It can be an insanely fun game with the right people. (I play L4D2)
I have been playing this game regularly since it came out in 2009 and I still fire it up maybe once a week sometimes more and laugh my ass off every time. It helps that I enjoy a few of the characters and the shit they say...

Given the critical and commercial success, it would be stupid of TellTale to NOT make another season of this game.
