Hey I live within 10 miles of two Wal-Marts and there isn't a trailer park within 30 miles of me.

Just because I am unfortunate enough not to have a mobile home park near me does not make me white trash.

I miss the old Pinto on blocks. Man why did you have to bring back such great memories?

Well, for all intents and purposes, this transaction DOES exist. The store # and total match. It doesn't give what was purchased. The only way for me to print another receipt would be to do it right after he paid and the next customer is rung up. If I was standing there to do it, I woulda threw down and bought the damn thing myself. I'll admit that Wal-Mart makes mistakes. Hell, the receipts on my registers were fubar last night. Every receipt that came out had a different number for the store phone #. Go figure, never seen that one before. I was tempted to go in the back and hit the restart button on the main server, but I would have gotten a call from Bentonville wanting to know what kinda crack I was smokin to do that. Those people must be anti-social.

<< Rag15 and Jasonja,
Who cares if it is his first post or not? Does that make him or anyone else that has less posts than either of you an idiot? Is it impossible that this guy got some information that he believes is valid and is trying to share it with everyone?
It is statements like yours that make people not want to post stuff. But what do I know, seeing how this is only my second post. My IQ must be below 50 or I am a liar. If you doubt what he says fine but be an adult and keep your opinions to yourselves. Basically, growup.

Hey StealthGlass hang in there. I don't have many posts and I too have been lambasted for trying to give out information. It is the nature of a few on this forum. There was a threat to clean it up at the first of the year but I haven't seen much of a change.

I don't know what to believe about this deal, but I do not doubt that it is real. Wal-Mart has extreme buying power. I worked for a large (fortune 500) manufacturer that sold merchandise to Wal-Mart. As big as we were, Wal-Mart controlled the quantities and had huge influence over the price they would pay. They have high expectations and demand low prices from their suppliers. If they didn't like the price we gave them, they would simply go elsewhere. Wal-Mart is so tight when it comes to spending at the corporate level that on business trips two people had to share a hotel room. I am not saying that Wal-Mart only paid $80 bucks for these drives, but they certainly didn't pay $400 for them.

Walmart is after all the largest retailor in the USA not to mention the world. We supply them their teradata servers and some of their cash registers. Needless to say within reason whatever they want they get. We have dedicated a whole department of people just to service their needs.

I work at wallyworld also and I find this hard to believe. Some buyer could have very possibly recieved a pallet of these to work through the distribution system as a thank you for your order kinda thing. Walmart does not buy items to "THANK" their customers. How the heck did you come up with that? It would depend on where this happened as there are different districts of walmarts across the United States. I'm not sure about the price ringing up wrong on these, it would probably just not be found in the system if someone hasn't made it a local item entry. Walmarts are built in very commercial areas along with "trailer trash areas" if you will but they are attempting to make products available at a low price to anyone wishing to purchase them. These would be more likely to sell at a SAM's club than Walmart and believe it or not, many people would know what this was that shop at Walmart. Someone send me a UPC or walmart item number and I'm going to check into this to see which stores have sold them and if any information is available.

Hey Barney Fife, at least now everyone knows why Andy would never let you carry a loaded gun and only have one bullet in your shirt pocket.

WHY are people still harping on this??? If the original "deal" was in fact a hoax, then there's no reason to waste anymore time on it. If it were real, and they DID get one pallet of them nationwide, then they are all gone so it is still dead, once again no reason to waste more time. I went to Wal-Mart that first night, found nothing, and let it go. I am still able to get up in the morning despite not having a $90 DVD-RW.
