Ehh, I don't have "cave", but, I do have a dedicated theater room, a dedicated office, and I tend to clutter about in the bedroom and living room.

She has her own craft room as well as kitchen and laundry room that she decorates how she likes.

lol why they don't have "woman caves"

kitchens?

both my parents had their own separate rooms when I was growing up. no "do not enter" signs but it was understood not to bother them if the doors were closed... my mom had a room off the master bedroom that she used for sewing, crafts, and schoolwork; my dad had a room on the first floor that was basically just his sports-watching and newspaper-reading room. my sister and I had our bedrooms and shared a den in the basement (though I moved into the basement in high school, after which my mom moved her sewing room into my old bedroom and they converted that room off the master bedroom into a walk-in closet)

Who care's what someone calls it. It's your damn house, you keep it however you want and if a guy want's to shove all his fun crap into a single room and call it a man cave, den, junk room or even masterbatory then he can. You guys are getting weird with your opinions of other's preferences.

Meh, these Walmart man caves look sterile and boring, nothing cozy about them... when I moved to the apartment where I'm currently living (I've got a roommate, but we have enough rooms), I was thinking about making a "gaming room", but after a while I realized that I really don't care about decoration that I have more spartan approach "effectiveness above all", so basically it was about choosing the right desk for my pc and right chair to lay in.

I recently did away with my desk. I found a way to mix PC gaming with the comforts of console gaming without having to use wireless kb's and HTPC's in my living room.
I mounted my TV on the wall and I attached an arm to the adjacent wall that swings out in front of my chair, this arm has my kb/mouse/nostromo on top so basically it's like a k/b tray that swings outward from a pivot (which is just one of those LCD arm extensions). So it's against the wall like a shelf and swings out in front of my chair when I'm not using a gamepad or wheel.
My chair is a glider so it's more relaxing than the typical computer chair.

Anywho, this way I can swing it back against the wall and grab my gamepad to play a more console like experience plus I have enough floor space between me and the TV to put my G27 and wheelstand pro there.
So I get the benefits of the living room with the necessities and proper position of a PC desk.

Sure some may use it that way but I think you are over generalizing. Plenty of us have it because we want to have it not because we need to hide\escape or are afraid of our wives.

Also for many dark home theater rooms are synonymous with 'man cave'
QFT -- It's semantics. The fam watches movies and plays video games in our basement media room. I just happened to be the one who outfitted and decorated it.
