I currently have a toshiba satellite 1110, (2 ghz, 256 megs of ram, 16 megs of video ram(mobility radeon if i remember right)) and its not good enough for me any more,, I dont have a desktop any more, and dont want to get a desktop, I want a laptop that will play games pretty well. this laptop can play unreal 2003 @ 800x600 pretty well, but its not good enough. I need something with internal wireless (g), and at least a 60 gb hard drive, with the best videocard on the market for laptops (I dont know whats best nowadays)

I was thinking of getting it custom made with a good video card and a less powerful processor, Is this possible? I found a laptop for 4000$ that had 128 megs of video ram, (I think it was a radeon 9700), but it was a P4 3.6 GHZ with lots of gadgets i dont really need. 4000$ is way to much for me anyways, im not looking for 300 fps, maybe 30 or so, as long as it doesnt lag..

Im going to sell my laptop, try and get 1000$ for it, and gonna buy a new computer, want to spend about 1500-2000$ on it..

Cliff notes: I want a lappy that will play games, cuz i dont want a desktop computer. Where could I get the best laptop for games with at least 60 gb of hard drive space, for about 1500-2000$?

P.S. Im really friggen tired, so sorry if something isnt clear.

Best for the money is the eMachines M68x (Current models are 6810 (3200+,60GB,CDRW) and 6811 (3400+, 80GB, DVDRW)) and use a 64MB Radeon 9600.
Otherwise, Dell isn't horrible; but I would look @ Asus or Fujitsu (Dunno what they have, but they are good systems). I'm not a big fan of Dell. Why buy something that might crap out when you can buy something that WON'T crap out for around the same money?

i've been pleased with my sager. gaming performance is excellent with the 128 MB 9600 (they didn't have the 9700 out when i bought mine). it's not anywhere near cutting-edge desktop for 3D, but it's plenty for smooth, good-looking gaming.

Dell 9100 w/ Mobility Radeon 9800 (256 mb). THis thing scores way higher than a loaded desktop w/ 9800XT.

i play doom 3 at 1024x768 at medium quality at 25-30fps. The 9600 in them is easily overclockabel. I have mine at 360/215 from 300/200 but i have seen people with them at 400/225. games take a littel while to load with the 4200rpm hd it comes with. i would recommend upgrading to a 7200 rpm. I have read (i didn't do this) that with one gig of ram you canrun doom 3 at 1024x768 at high quality with fps about 30.

I don't know where you came up with that. read
this . A 9800 pro kills the 9800 in every benchmark. i don't know whata 9800xt would do against it but it would only be worse

$1000 is far off. Even 600 is kinda pushing it. I'm guessing that the processor is a celeron, so that laptop would be around 700-800 new. Factor in the fact that its been used (depending on how long), and its down to about 550 max.
