Is it just me or is the sword REALLY small?? 25.5 INCHES. that is nothing. I would expect a sword like that to be at least 36 inches in overall length.

<< LOL! Made in China >>

Where else do you think such sword would be made in if not in China? Which country else knows the art of sword more than China in ancient history? What's wrong with made-in-China products? Look at your Plextor burner! Look at your Rio Volt! Next time when you LOL. just think deeply, you uneducated moron!

For those wondering, ALL these swords are for display purposes. There's no point arguing about WHO in history made the best sword, for NONE of these could be used in real combat. (I once tried to chop a head of lettuce with one of these when I was a kid and found out to my dismay how very true this is...)

Unfortunately for all of us, most of the pictures on HSN SUCK! I'd rather not buy a sword (even a $30 one) sight unseen. There are a lot of cutlery places on the web that sell the same styles, so try and find the one you want to get a more detailed view of your sword of interest.

guyver01,

What are you expecting for $40? A sword that you can take out on a quest and slay the dragon for king and country?

It's a display/collectors item. That's why it's:

a. Stainless steel.
b. Less than 2 feet in length.
c. So damn cheap.

Those serious about swords should go back in time, bring a bar or two of gold with you, and get a really good one.

cheers,
--jb

[edit]: valkyrie beat me to the punch here..grr.. maybe i'll buy one of these swords here and off with yer head!

'16" L custom stainless steel blade with etchings'

Good cheap price on something exotic, although I was under the impression that full sized swords were a little longer. Good for show.

ps. The debate over crap from china stems from typical american socialization. China produces some good products, and Logitech is actually a Chinese company from Suzhou, if I'm not mistaken

Guys, you can't buy a decent sword so cheap. There are reputable dealers out there, but you generally need to spend hundreds of dollars to get something long, powerful, and of high quality.

I would suggest the Renaissance Fair. Sometimes you can get a good blade for $200 or so.

Want a real sword? Here is one of my favorite sites on the net, their prices are a little higher than the sleazy stuff HSN sells but they have Battle Ready Swords and Axes! (and I know people who have ordered from this place and been treated well):

Swords N Stuff

A couple I have had my eye on for a while:

Viking Long Sword

Robert the Bruce Claymore

Here is the one I really want, it costs a bit more but has a hand-forged, high-carbon, folded steel blade. Some sites have it for $450 while I know I have seen it for around $300 somewhere... It is the 1010-GT at the top of this page:

Viking Sword

So this is a chinese style sword? Basically, I believe the price says the quality, not the Made in China marker.

And I do not believe Logitech is based on China, I do believe their products are Made in China.

If we can use this sword as a kitchen knife, it would be a hot deal. I paid more for my kitchen knife.

Ok, as an avid Medieval enthusiast who owns sevearl authentic swords, I must say that this thing looks pretty crappy. I guess $26 isn't too bad for wall candy though... Stainless steel, bleh!
