Please do not knowingly buy goods made in China. Have you not been watching events in the news? China will be our next major foe, why feed the tiger that will eventually bite us. I know that some items are only available from China but try to buy from Tawain if possible not Communist China! Yes they still are communist and are repressive of individual freedom. You know, those things that we as U.S. citizens take for granted! It is like the old Fram oil filter ad--pay me now or pay me later. Later you may pay with your life or the life of your son! Let the flames begin!

I tried very hard to stop laugh. Taiwan is part of China only it has been seperated from mainland because of dirty politics. Still the economic tie between the two sides across the strait is tight. If you buy a product from Taiwan, you are still paying your tribute to the so called communist (honestly I don't think they are) government in China. Plus, All the weapons United States are selling to Taiwan today will soon become property of a united China.

So please stop embrassing yourself here by showing off your ignorance. Just by reading your post on a issue not related to this forum, I am amazed how a great job has been done by the US government to keep people like you uneducated and ignorant and yet still arrogant.

Flame on...

<< LOL! Made in China >>

Where else do you think such sword would be made in if not in China? Which country else knows the art of sword more than China in ancient history?
>>

Swords from Toledo, Spain.

My brother has bought a two nice longswords from his time over there, and I'm thinking of picking one up when I go in a month or so.

I wasn't aware the KMT was ready to fold that easily to the mainland...

In any event, if the nationalist policies of Taiwan in regards to Chinatowns that are stateside hold any water, I don't think a "united" China is going to happen anytime soon. I wouldn't think the Taiwanese government would be putting so much cash into anti-Communist associations here if they were seriously considering unification.

And not all of us in the United States are as ignorant as our President. Yes, he DOES make us look bad, but don't judge the rest of us on him, judge the Supreme Court's intelligence instead

If you guys are talking about ancient swords for battle, you must admit that the invention of iron (Aryans) was the big turning point. Iron swords is what ruled back in the day. This is why the Aryans, and their predecessors were able to fight so well. I believe the Central Asian Mongols that wiped out the entire Chinese army also used these iron weapons. At least this is what is i learned in school. But that is just history, today, i would be more concerned about style and quality cuz it will just be for show, and for me a japanese sword would suit nicely. I would actually be interested in a nice, good quality Samurai sword. Am I right in thinking that Japanese steel is superior to others? BTW, when i think of recent history (800 years ago, etc.) and swords I think of the samurai and ninja. Anyone know where i can get a really good quality samurai sword for not too much? I would like two.

I still prefer a midsize katana sword. Anyone holding a heavy sword is gonna get sliced up real bad. The strengh and time it takes to swing a heavy sword will have a cost, especially if you miss. A lighter blade will give you more hits, and if the blade is well made, you may even have a chance to block.

Actually, it really doesn't matter what the Taiwanese government wants because when China finally wants to get Taiwan back nothing's gonna stop them. China doesn't even need to send troops, they have enough missiles to pound us (I'm Taiwanese) into submission. And I seriously doubt George W. would risk over 1 billion consumers for a small island.

Imagine what will happen if you step on a Tiger's tail. This is what President Bush has been repeatedly doing.

Not necessarily.

An extremely skilled person wielding a broad sword or a bastard sword against a middling nihontou-wielding opponent has a better chance of winning based on that skill. If you're really good with a nihontou, more power to you, but it's not just the sword that matters, it's also the ability of the person holding the sword.

My two swords (both mentioned above) came today. Though they are extremely tiny swords (think halfling / hobbit short sword), they do appear to be nicely made. And when I say that I'm not making any sort of comment on the actual craftsmanship of the sword. You shouldn't have bought one of these if you were thinking about slicing ninjas or chopping trees.

But they do not look as bad as many of the other cheap swords I've seen. The blades are fairly straight and decently polished and not scratched. The scabbards are of course, very cheap looking, but of very good quality for the price paid. Both have a decent weight.

Altogether, I'm very happy with what I got for the price paid. My wife and I each bought one, so we were able to use the first time coupon both times. Thanks for the heads up spec.

Look at your Plextor burner! Look at your Rio Volt! Next time when you LOL. just think deeply, you uneducated moron!>>

Don't even kid yourself, this is a mass produced replica. Although I'm sure there are high quality sword makers in China you aren't going to buy a good sword made in china on the HSN. Period. In fact I would seriously doubt any swords of quality made in china are even exported.

As to your question where else swords would be made, pakistan is one of the large makers of sh!t decorative swords. If you want to purchase a real sword that is made with good steal and craftmanship in this country you find a blacksmith or find something made in spain (or a few other select locations that still have quality sword manufacturing).

For one thing, China has ALWAYS wanted Taiwan back. Another thing is why would China destroy Taiwan with missles if it wants it back? That is just foolish thinking. I too am Taiwanese, and if you just take a glimpse, Taiwan is basically a seperate country from China (they even have their own language), much like how Hong Kong was. You think that if China made a move on Taiwan no other country would do a thing? That's like saying that no one would do anything if the former USSR invaded Berlin back in the day. C'mon now and think, I agree with the former person, a "united" China is NOT going to happen anytime soon and without a good fight.
