OP should have known eating a patch was a bad idea. Drug efficacy strongly depends on how the drug is taken. Transdermal patches have incredibly high dosages because soaking things through the skin is terribly slow and inefficient compared to eating or injecting something. As an example of this, a standard nicotine patch can be about 20mg. The LD50 for nicotine, the dosage where roughly 50% of people would be expected to die, is in the ballpark of about 50mg for an adult human. Wearing a nicotine patch is fine, but eating a nicotine patch will likely put you in the hospital.
