yeah we shouldn't delve too deep into pcgeeks logic. Just point and laugh from the shoreline.

That is not great logic. In fact quite poor.
Just admit you were either wrong then, or wrong now.
Its OK, we'll actually respect you more for it.

That is what I essentially said earlier. I'll try and make it better, My opinion changed with the events.

1.) I was against any action in Syria by the US.
2. ) I was for the united nations to set up safe zones for refugees in the middle east somewhere.
3. ) Obama drew his red line in the sand, then didn't back it up. ( he did not need congress for a one time strike). There were multiple violations as far as I understand.
4. ) Russia became involved to back up Assad. In my opinion this is at least partially due to Obama's lack of action.
5. Assad tested the new administration and received a proper response from the current administration.

Things changed and so did my opinion of what did and should have been done then and wasn't and now and was.

I cannot get any plainer than that. Continue beating if you must and drag up some post of mine from many years ago. I can take it.

Too bad the hand wringing people above that continue saying I'm a liar and god knows what all else are having too much fun berating me for nothing... I shouldn't expect better on this forum. It isn't a wonder that it is slowly dying. People only have one choice here, agree with the pack or be eaten alive. I wonder what will happen when we only have liberals on here. Will they will resort to cannibalism and eat each other? I think so.

Have a nice day.

You don't have to agree, just be an honest person. Unfortunately that seems to be a challenge. I even started this thread taking you at your word.

You clearly said 2012-2013 was when things changed, but from searching your posts, you never indicated a difference. You mentioned numerous times around the end of 2015 to present about the safe zones, which was clearly just a solution to the refugee crisis you got from the media, which you said was "the best idea you've seen". You've never stated anything indicating you changed until Trump came into office, and you even said in 2015 that you didn't give a rat's *** about their issues. The obvious difference was merely that Obama had left, and according to Occam's razor, that's the simplest and most believable reason. And we see that reflected in the polls.

5. Assad tested the new administration and received a proper response from the current administration.

The whole thing was a joke. About half a million have died since the start of the civil war.. Trump didn't start caring all because of a chemical attack.

What's funny is how the Republicans complained that authorizing Obama to attack would have just led to a "pinprick" attack, yet if there ever was one, it was Trump's pathetic attack.

"[L]et's remember what the president said. He said the attack he would conduct would be a pinprick. Well, the United States military was not build to conduct pinprick attacks." -- Rubio

Let's get real. You were just like Rubio and the other craven Republicans that put party over country.

@pcgeek11 you really have painted yourself in to a corner. No one here believes you don't believe what you said then and what you're saying now. They are calling you a hypocrite and outright telling you that you put party before country.

The difference between Obama and Trump is that he knew he couldn't step out of line and order an attack with out approval. For a multitude of reasons, the majority of which were related to the conservatives likely amping up their hostility to more than it already was. Talk about the Red line all you want but it does not change the fact that he had to be a politician. Of course it was disappointing and it looked bad that he couldn't/didn't follow through. He is smarter than Trump without question... I assume that gets your undies in a bunch? The reason Trump didn't look for approval is because he's lazy, dumb, won't be accountable and he just doesn't care about much other than his approval rating. He really really really wants people to like him or at least stop being mean to him for being an imbecile and a horrid human being.

At minimum, please admit that your fluid beliefs are based solely on brainwashed party loyalty. If you do that, you'll forever have an excuse to flip flop. Damn the country, a Republican representative said I gotta care about this and not care about that. I'll be damned if I feel anything less than righteous about it. <--- that can be your motto.

Your choice of words is pretty amusing. You accuse the forums of a pack mentality, and yet you are a perfect example of what the thread was originally about. Here's a reminder:

In two Washington Post polls, taken after the chemical attacks in Syria in 2013 (approx 1.5k deaths) and in 2017 (approx. 100 deaths), respondents were asked if they supported or opposed a U.S. strike.

2013:
Ds: 38% supported
Rs: 22% supported

2017:
Ds: 37% supported
Rs: 86% supported

Face it, bro. You are nothing more than a stereotype, a cliche. Like all those Republicans who were polled, you were willing to perform any mental gymnastics you need to demonize or obstruct Obama. Now you're willing to support or justify whatever Trump does. Even if it were the exact same action being taken.

Whether you go to such lengths to explain your flip-flop because you're a liar or because you actually, truly believe all the bullshit you're typing, I don't know. Either way, it's pretty pathetic.

ObamaCare, Republican voters like it now. Explain.

One woman was even on Obamacare, didnt realize it, called it Trumpcare, said how great it was and so much better than ObamaCare.

But there is no trumpcare and she is on the obamacare she hated.

But trump is white so now its good.

I mean, The ACA is Romney's original idea anyway. A republican idea, thats why they have no replacement, IT WAS their idea.

I don't think it has anything to do with IQ. That's the same retarded argument that folks were making in the other thread about gumballs. Entire countries are just as smart as the standard SCOTUS holds for mentally incompetent to be executed.

I think in many instances it is simply a matter of being unable to imagine the lives of other people and instead they project their personal experiences onto everyone else. This mentality shows up time and time again in discussions about:

Healthcare
Education
Employment
Immigration
Abortion
etc

Many conservatives are the way they are not because they are stupid or evil but because they are facing a lack of empathy.

Or at least, an extreme level of ignorance and tribalism. I've seen otherwise nice, caring people, totally turn on a humanitarian/social construct because 'the other guys' submitted it.

IIRC there's been some research done showing that conservatives have a different spread of morals than liberals. In particular, they highly value group identity, have more fear (confirmed by brain scans showing increased amygdala activity), and have stronger disgust reactions. This would explain a lot.

empathy is a higher iq thing.

One of the best parts in Tree of life was when that one dinosaurs recognized the other was in pain and left it alone. People who have no or little empathy are regressing.
