The really sad thing is that they define their lives by their faith and yet when push came to shove and the tenets of their faith ran up against the needs of political partisanship it was their faith that gave way.

It's like the Crusades- there is no sin while on a mission from God. He guides your hand, even when you're chopping up women & children.

It's perfectly normal for a District Attorney to be banned from a mall because he's cruising for high school chicks. Happens all the time in Alabama. It's part of the culture, and I'm sure he just wanted to show these girls a righteous good time.
Legat says that he saw Moore there a few times, even though his understanding then was that he had already been banned. “It started around 1979, I think,” Legat said. “I know the ban was still in place when I got there.” Legat recalled a Gadsden police officer named J. D. Thomas, now retired, who worked security at the mall. “J. D. was a fixture there, when I was working at the store,” Legat said. “He really looked after the kids there. He was a good guy. J. D. told me, ‘If you see Roy, let me know. He’s banned from the mall.’ ” Legat recalled Thomas telling him, “If you see Moore here, tell me. I’ll take care of him.’ ” Legat said that his boss, Eddie Hill, also told him to look for Moore.

One of two things has happened:

(1) McConnell suddenly grew a spine and some moral fortitude overnight, or

(2) McConnell doesn't want another Cruz type wack job in his caucus, he despises Moore, wants Strange and it looking for anything to hang his hat on.

You decide.
More likely, GOP insiders have known about the Moore allegations for YEARS. The kind of open secret thing that you'd only get to hear about if you were a friendly party. Kinda like someone saying "I'm pretty sure Putin is paying Rohrbacher", get my drift?

There's a reason Trump backed Strange instead of Moore against Bannon's wishes, and it isn't because Trump is besties with Strange or McConnell.

GAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, Moore once got banned from a mall because he was cruising for teen girls and that's ALL he did there. Even a former police officer backed this up LMAO

https://www.thedailybeast.com/report-alabama-mall-banned-roy-moore-in-the-80s-for-pursuing-teens

I want this motherfucker to put his hand on the bible and swear he didn't do shit like this.

So long as it's televised split screen next to the yearbook he signed. Followed by testimonial reading of that officer's description of Moore. Which is all preceded by the emotional account of the 5th woman. All followed by a plea for Alabamians to not follow a sinner into the depths of hell.

Such a message might strike a nerve or two.

That is some revisionist history there. Trump endorsed Strange because the National Republican Party did including McConnell and his PAC and the NRSC which tries and protects incumbents. Trump was mad when Strange lost even after Trump campaigned for him and deleted some tweets that was supportive of Big Luther. Trump only cares for wins and feeding his ego. Do you really think Trump who bragged about going into dressing rooms and grabbing people cares what Moore did?

Moore is dead in the water. When he signed that yearbook years ago he was basically signing the end to his campaign today.

I hope he stays in the race. Please stay in the race!
This x 1000 ... He is dead in the water and the longer he stays in the race the more damage is done to the party, fox, bannon, trump ... mcconnel... Talk about silver linings.

Gonna test my boomer predictive skills again. I predict he will be in today saying the restaurant in the Roy Moore yearbook comment didn't exist back then and/or the signature is forged.

My mother, a staunch republican, has already begun to defend this turd while looking for every democrat in trouble to counter him with.

Hearing the discussion about this has been rather interesting. I've heard remarks about how this has to be a hit piece because of how close it is to the election. I've heard remarks about how 16 is legal in Alabama. (Ignoring that the 16-year-old girl was not in a consensual relationship with him.) I've heard remarks about how other people have been in relationships with younger (yet still legal) women, but that was celebrated.

After hearing all of this, I mentioned that they really ought to watch the latest Last Week Tonight with John Oliver given that each remark made was one of the items on his list of three illogical retorts that we've been getting. Oh, goodness... you would've thought that I told someone to go party with the devil! I think the exact words to describe him were "sleazy liberal", and when inquiring about what's so sleazy about him, I was told "everything". I was also told that apparently, Trump's speaches are considered some of the best in history by impartial historians?

wow, people have actually told you this? It's amazing the delusions that people can convince themselves of, as if it isn't apparent that they clearly know nothing about the sourcing of such claims. I mean, it requires zero effort to fact check such an absurd claim, but the confirmation bias seems to overpower the actual need for truth in this modern conservative movement which is really just an experiment in the alarming success of mass gaslighting.

Not surprised the votes aren't wavering too much. To those who were already his supporters, all of this is just fake news and a conspiracy to get one of their own, righteous heroes ousted. All planned by the evil liberal media and corrupt Washington politicians. The divide between the people is so great now, this is what happens. Everything the other side says is bullshit and will only galvanize them.

Jesus Christ, just when you think it can't get any worse for Moore...

Oh, I don't know, I imagine some of his victims could think of a few ways for it to get worse for Moore! An inspired choice of which prison he should go to, for example...

More power to you all if you can manage to engage people like this. My mom is great in most ways, helps to raise my kids honestly with all she does--but we mutually avoid politics like the plague in the interests of actually having a relationship. Another case in point, the bass player and drummer in my band. Yeah it sucks that the rhythm section likes Trump but hey they can groove LOL. We just never, ever talk politics.

Some might say "giving up", but I don't see any reason to talk politics with Trump supporters. I'd eat a shoe if even 10 across the country have changed their positions based on conversations with dirty liberals.
