McConnell says if Moore wins there will be an Ethics Committee investigation and he'll have to testify under oath. I think they should do that now. Allred's client wants to testify under oath. They should subpoena Moore and make him testify.

If Moore wins they will do the same thing as they did with Trump, ignore it. It’s not like the current president doesn’t have lots of credible accusations that he has sexually assaulted people. Where are the congressional investigations there?

Sorry, they are investigating the Clintons.

And holy shit Moores wife is in the sophomore class in the same yearbook he signed of the victim from yesterday. How the f did that get missed?!

Wow, he was scouting new talent?

Check out the pic in the article he is literally swearing on a stack of bibles.

Photos made their age difference appear to line up to that. Great catch though. So he was a predator and kept attacking teenage girls until years later he finally found one from that group who said yes.

The senate could refuse to seat him but I think Moore would prevail on a legal basis. That leaves expulsion which requires 2/3rds of the Senate to vote but he's need a trial first. If expelled the AL governor would appoint another replacement.

While this is possible the tumult it would cause inside the AL GOP would be crazy. The base wants Moore and expelling him puts them in direct opposition to the national party which will have consequences down the line. Anyway this is a nuts situation the Rs are in just trying to salvage a seat they should otherwise be able to easily keep.

Consequence is that they might end up with a crazy Republican, like the base seems to want. That's exactly what Moore is already. Its taking allegations of him trying to fuck young teenage girls in his 30s to even throw any doubt on him. The people there will keep voting Republican come hell and high water. As long as they keep getting candidates willing to say the right things, they're not gonna care, so all any candidate that the national party wants has to do is spout the nonsense, and head to Washington. He can straight up ignore them after that. Only issue is that there might be some turnover, but that won't matter.

I'm guessing there's some bullshit legal procedure, but yeah, that should be done before he even is allowed to be a candidate. Because that would pretty firmly make him put his money where his mouth is. Not that even that would matter.

Yep.

Credible accusations? There's multiple avenues where he himself has admitted to doing fucking despicable shit. Walking in on underage girls changing, assaulting women, saying he'd fuck his daughter. Doesn't matter.

Of course, because they're totally worse!!! Can't you just accept that already!?! They're so rotten that just running against her in the campaign is why people think Trump is dirty! /s

And if this was the good old Christian days that he claims to long for, he'd probably have just moved onto a daughter after the wife got too old (which, hey, I'll even give him some credit and say he might would've waited til she was 30, or the daughter turned 13 or maybe 14).

Perhaps, but the allegations against Moore involve underage victims, which is a touchier issue. And Moore doesn't have the national support that Trump does. It's mainly Alabama republicans who are backing him. And he isn't the POTUS.

My best guess is that their condemnations and pulling some funding is about all they're going to do right now, but they may expel him if he wins the election. It's better for them if he wins and gets expelled than if they try too hard to undermine him now and the dems pick up the seat.

I'm more and more convinced that state and national Republicans will find a way to stop this election from even happening. Strange or Sessions will finish out the term.

All u Hannity/Fox News fans getting this..

Your boy went from last week "it was consensual" to "U got 24 hours Roy because I'm gonna lose this sweet gig. It takes effort to fake this shit 5 days a week"

BTW - What does Hannity think he's gonna learn in the next 24 hours??

I've heard some very disturbing things going on in Alabama. Trollbots are tweeting and posting that WaPo reporters have been offering women $1000 for allegations against Moore for months. Apparently one of the bots is using the identities of dead soldiers.

Also, Alabamans are saying they've received fake robocalls from a "Bernie Bernstein" at WaPo asking if any women in the household want to make an allegation against Moore.

The fact that any of that could be successful, and it will be, is a testament to how monumentally fucking stupid the general voting population truly is.

So let's say Moore wins and then gets removed by the Senate. I'm thinking that's going to open a whole new can of worms for the GOP. I'm wondering how that will affect those Repub voters in Alabama that gave Moore his win? Will they feel betrayed? I think so. I'm thinking to have their votes nullified by outsiders is going to have some serious blow back in that state.

Don't know how that's going to manifest itself in any kind of retributive way by the Alabamians, but it can't make things any better for them to have them thrown under the bus "for the better good of the party".

And what of other Repub controlled states who may then feel that their state's rights can be violated on principle the same way the Alabamians may experience should Moore win?

Given the prevailing attitudes that's been coming out of Alabama that seems to have them digging in their heels and rallying around Moore, this whole affair is a lose/lose for the party no matter what happens from here on in.

edit - I'm thinking if ever Trump jumps into this as I think he will (or must?), he also faces a lose/lose scenario given his own reputation for being a sexual predator.

They seem to be doing everything they can to ensure he doesn't win. Tossing around write in ideas for voters to consider. Telling people they probably won't seat him. Just enough to hopefully have him just lose in the general.
