The special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election is interviewing senior intelligence officials as part of a widening probe that now includes an examination of whether President Trump attempted to obstruct justice, officials said.

The move by Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III to investigate Trump’s own conduct marks a major turning point in the nearly year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.

Trump had received private assurances from former FBI Director James B. Comey starting in January that he was not personally under investigation. Officials say that changed shortly after Comey’s firing.

There is no doubt that Trump obstructed justice. The problem is that as long as the majority of the GOP believe that their voting base sticks by Trump therer is no way that he will be impeached, actually no matter what he does. On the surface I would agree with you but they also have to protect themselves. If they are seen as protecting Trump once the evidence becomes overwhelming ( by that I mean an official statement or indictment or some official document coming from Mullers team) at that point they will start to bail real fast. Unfortunately we're still going to have to wait quite a while these things take time and they don't comment on it especially when the people under investigation are at this high of a level they simply don't say it publicly until they're done. Just sit back and enjoy the show. The fun part will be to see how long it takes before Trump loses his cool and has a complete meltdown.

No, the narrative is that his associates lied about their connections to Russia to the FBI and Trump tried to pressure law enforcement to drop the case, thus obstructing justice.

the narrative was never that Trump was controlled by Russia, i think the word you are looking for is collusion. everyone knows that no one is able to control Trump, including himself. that narrative has not changed but Trump made things worse, as he tends to do, by sticking his foot in his mouth over and over.

he is his own worst enemy and is ultimately the source of all of his own problems.

I just want him gone. Don't much care how it comes about. <---- not a big fan of feeling this way about any human being. *Sigh* but I do about him. He has sparked something in me I don't enjoy, deep distrust, disdain and dislike. He's just and only a despicable, loathsome human.
