I will say this: Whoever the next president of the US is, will not be able to wipe his own ass without someone checking a box somewhere. This whole adventure has been very empowering for the judicial branch imo.

This is almost entirely Executive branch self policing itself. DoJ and special prosecutor are Executive pieces. Only Judicial input is signing warrants. Oh, and bitch-slapping the muslim ban is Judicial as well.

Trump publicaly asked Russia to hack Hillary's email. Sounds like collusion to me.

lol, the guy is on tape, and on Twitter saying that. We know for a fact that Russia hacked the DNC (and, quite certainly, the RNC. I think only a fool could deny that).

Trump: hack HiIlary's emails and the DNC!
Russia hacks the emails
Trump: No evidence of anything!

Fair enough, my point still stands though. This whole thing has been a pretty good vindication of checks and balances at least.

Good. So tired of Republicans whining about the pointless investigation (that was not actually happening). Now they have something real to whine about instead of their imaginations.

And Donnie is apparently intent on being hoisted by his own petard with these tweets.

So is that an admission of guilt? Are you saying there is proof out there? I mean Mueller's team has to be toasting every time he tweets by now! I said yesterday maybe Twitter will be used against him by Mueller, now I'm about 95% certain it will.

EDIT: He continues on..

Are you blaming Rosenstein or Mueller?

If you believe in conspiracy theory you could say that Rosenstein set Trump up, sacrificed Comey so that he could appoint a special counsel with much greater powers. Sessions couldn't stop him, nor could Trump. And Donald charged right into it, eyes wide shut.

Of course, being investigated is not, by itself, a big hairy ass deal. But he made it one by trying to get people to deny it.

If we can't trust an infamous con artist, who can we trust?

Just saw Pence has hired Outside Counsel. Boy, this is moving fast...

Why would such a fine, moral, sin-free man need to worry about his response? Pence seems worried that he might say something that gets his two-faced ass in a wringer. Now he can refer everything to his lawyer and keep away from the shit storm. When he's president next year, he'll be better off for having done this.

Deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein tells Americans to be skeptical of anonymous sources..

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/d...keptical-of-anonymous-sources/article/2626174

Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories attributed to anonymous ‘officials,' particularly when they do not identify the country — let alone the branch or agency of government — with which the alleged sources supposedly are affiliated. Americans should be skeptical about anonymous allegations.

I wonder if any Breitbart readers will realize this might apply to them. My initial thought was that Rosenstein made the statement as an SOP to Trump, to keep him calm for a little while longer.

Of course people should maintain a healthy level of skepticism. I noticed that Rod Rosenstein doesn't call for declaring any story citing anonymous sources as "FAKE NEWS" or "GREATEST WITCH HUNT IN GLOBAL HISTORY." Based on this, I'd say Rod Rosenstein is infinitely more qualified to be president that the moron who currently has the job.

Pence was head of the transition team, he had to know something, of course if/when the time comes, he'll play dumb.

I think I'm going to start responding with "witch hunt!" when someone starts asking me questions at work.

Why does Pence seemingly get a pass in the media? He seems to be somehow involved in every scandal, whether it be Flynn or the firing of Comey.
Trump may need Pence to pardon him, so they need Pence to appear as "clean" as possible.

Pence is actually in a position where he has to admit/prove incompetence in order to defend against potential criminal collusion. Sources had already claimed that they were in the room, with Pence, when the information regarding Flynn was presented to the team (I believe these were Obama's transition staffers--the ones that informed the Trump team--that are the sources here)

Interesting times.

Because there are valid concerns that Paul Ryan is even worse than Pence.

Jesus, the whole cabinet is a dumpster fire. Acosta is the first one in the line of succession that doesn't make me throw up a little in my mouth. Ideally we would just redo the whole fraudulent election, but there's zero chance unfortunately.

Agree on that, however keep in mind Watergate snagged 69 different people with indictments, given how big Comey and now Mueller's investigation is, it would not surprise in the least if more than a few Cabinet members(obviously Sessions) and potentially top republicans might go with it. But if it comes to that, the Republicans would most likely get absolutely wiped in the mid-terms

What are your thoughts on Mattis? He seems at least somewhat level headed and he's actually in line before Sessions

NBC reporting that Trump's personal lawyer has hired a lawyer.

The lawyers are going to need lawyers to cover their lawyers.
To be honest, trump's lawyer was over his pay grade before he was hired. This proves it.

Death by a thousand paper cuts continues on...

Actually given what has been reported in the last 48 hours or so, could Mueller potentially go RICO on Trump, Kushner et. al??

If I had to guess I would say it would be something with the foreign corrupt powers act.

Mattis seems pretty good, but he's a hammer and every problem isn't a nail.

That's actually the real issue with these investigations and why politicians are so nervous about them, even despite being innocent. The collateral damage, the other stuff that gets dragged up that is then found to separately be ripe for investigation.

Its like when your wife asks to see your browser history to see if you've been online gambling with the guy next door. You haven't been gambling at all of course, but I wager most guys on this site wouldn't want their wife rifling through their browser history and coming across "Hot-one-armed-redheads-playing-with-black-bunnies.com".

Mueller has brought in experts on finance, espionage, money laundering, obstruction. It's the whole effing kitchen sink. At this point I wouldn't say it's any one thing, but pretty much everything outside of murder.
