What makes you think the people in Warhammer will be any better than WoW? Has there been an MMO released since WoW that has had a "mature" player base?
I've played almost all of them and I can say the answer is no - and Warhammer won't be any better.

QFT. The reason UO, EQ and DAoC were so great early on was the nature of the player base. That will never come back now that WoW has set the subscriber bar up somewhere around the number of people who buy Big Macs every week.
I played DAoC for five years on Igraine and Galahad mostly. Our guild core stuck together pretty much throughout, and we've been parked in an online forum for a couple of years since most of us tired of WoW, waiting on War. I spent some time in Vanguard, and was disappointed the team PvP aspects of that game got shelved. Don't know how things have worked out since.
I hope War lives up to expectations. Some of our guild have been in the beta, and frankly the reports haven't been great. EA is laying down the law pretty hard, and I am afraid they will have to go live with a substandard product, very much like Vanguard.

The majority of a player base will almost never be "mature" in the sense that you mean but more often than not, the best players of a game will be serious and "mature" as you put it. That's been my own and several of my friends' experience anyways. I've only played RS as a MMORPG, but some of my friends say the same applies to WoW: The more time and effort people put into a game, the more serious and grown-up they are.
Just my opinion. And why shouldn't I be allowed to hope that things will be different in WAR? The term "Hope" would have lost all meaning then (which it might have, actually).

You can hope all you want, but a lost cause is a lost cause. Have fun being EA's bitch!

 maybe i'm being optimistic, but i believe publishers, as evil as they can appear sometimes, surely must realize that giving developers more freedom can potentially result in a superior product, and at the very least that the opposite will lead to an inferior product.
This could kill the game financially. Sure there's the hardcore contingent, but that's usually not enough to make back a big MMO's costs.Originally posted by: TaylorTech
The system requirements will be pretty tough as well.
My guess will be nothing short of a dual-core processor, 2GB ram, and I'd say an 8800GT at the least for playing on decently high resolutions. No official specs have been given, just a guess.

I've looked at the screen shot and really doubt you will need a decently beefy computer to run it. Requirements will be higher then wow but i do not see it being significantly higher.

Char name, realm and guild on Galahad? I played every realm there, knew quite a few people ... maybe we know each other, lol.
