WAR - what is your impression?

You know, I was not going to try this game at all. A friend of mine was like telling me to play with him and such and I wasn't goiing to even try it. But now after reading all these posts I kind of want to give it a go

Thats a big part of the fun, the challenge.

A lot of us have played DAoC and know what to expect already as far as scale goes on a siege of this scale.

Rank 12 now, had some insane rounds of pvp at rank 11, one I had a team of healers and had 48 kills, 0 deaths, with 8 solos and 18 finishing blows. Pretty intense for the entire 500 points.

It's not a guild-only thing.

What will happen is that realm communities will form, as they did in DAoC, and raids on fortresses and captial cities will be planned as a realm-wide event. These are not instances, but rather open-world objectives.

In WoW, you may be segregated off at the guild-level, but that's not the case here. Everyone works toward the common goal of killing every single stunty in sight.

A lot of people are using direct2drive I believe. But the hardcopy is available at all B&M retailers now.

It use to not do that. Ever since a couple patches ago it started doing that.

You're right. I didn't have this problem the 1st night I login. This was w/ the 1st 204MB patch on launch. Then when the game applied the 2nd mini patch, the black out started.

I'm trying new class Ironbreaker,wow he sure dies a lot in RvR scenerios,the Destruction side always win not sure if its a balance issue or what,pretty frustrating playing Order side with any class so far in 3 different regions ie Empire,Dwark and Elves kingdom on my server.

Somebody meantion a buff bug or something one of the destruction players was using,I find it funny that a lot of level 11 Destruction players camp the RvR scenerios in tier 1 and go after the lower players ,I was level 5 with a temp level 8 stat but with my skills and gear its not good against level 11 players as I found out lol.

I'll keep trying hope things improve later.

Btw not seen a server yet with more Order players it seems most go Destruction still,wonder why?

Never played world of warcraft before besides the 7 day trial and when I did I thought it was the crappiest game ever so I wouldn't know.

Because this aint wow? REALLY? its not alot of things... FFXI EQ2 EQ etc... hmm

It all depends on who you are playing with.

Its hard to determine class balance in group warfare when everyone is random.

In Beta I on the servers I played on Order dominated 75% of the time.

Heres my quick review.

PvE - Great
Questing - Great
Public Questing - Amazing
PvP - Great
RvR Scenarioes - Okay
Crafting - horrible/worthless/pointless
Balance - is pretty decent. I dont see one class always dominating fights.

This happens to me too. It's my only gripe with the game, really.

I play on Volkmar, but then agian so does everyone else lol.

What a terrible piece of crap game. alt-tab = black screen of doom, character's faces are transparent unless I turn anisotropic filtering off entirely, which makes the whole game look like a glitchy mess, 10 minute waits to get into the server all my friends are playing on, shitty character models, nothing but mash the buttons till things die gameplay, glitchy objects everywhere stopping me dead in my tracks till I can spam jump enough to get out, invisible walls forcing you down a narrow set path, the list just goes on and on.

I'm really surprised - I've heard nothing but "OMFG THE BEST EVER!" about this game so far from just about everyone. It's worse than AoC was at launch. By far.

By your comments I seriously doubt you played more then 3 minutes.

Alt+tab is a bug, play in windowed mode at your monitors res and all works fine. Some have the black screen only happen when they are doing something in the game like casting.

Seeing through faces cause of AF? Haven't heard that one myself, might be your drivers. Me and my friends all have it maxed out with no problems.

Waits, only if you rolled on the servers you see high population, and the lower high pop servers only have queues during primetime.

Character models are fine, they can't be high res, there will be tons of people on screen at once in rvr later on, you have to make a compromise. Button mashing? lmao....yeah right, maybe for your first few levels cause you only have like 3 abilities.

Only time you get "stuck" on things running is when your trying to run through crap, jump and avoid or simply go around. Invisible walls? another lmao moment...yeah where are these invisible walls forcing you down a narrow set path?

Saying this is worse then AoC is icing on the cake, seriously. If you think AoC was anywhere better then this launch then you seriously are mental.

All that said, the game does have bugs/problems. But if you play an MMO in the first months they come out be prepared for just that bugs/problems.

Not gonna lie, the battles in this game are freaking sweet since it is a open type zone battle to capture objectives and such, with an organized guild it is so much fun, my guild sprouted from 6 to 200 in less than 24 hours since we gave everyone recruiting rights.

I love using the cannons to blast away enemies, had a huge zone battle today about 50 destruction vs my 30 of my guild mates and a bunch of tag alongs. it was a blast. especially in the more conflicted zones like nordlands.

solo questing just isnt fun in this game

you have public quests and huge rvr zones
