I agree with fragged, Diablo II was an awesome game, especially when played with others. I had my brother, wife and son all addicted along with me. It's a great addition to anyone's gaming collection.

I just bought Starcraft Battlechest through Outpost.com for 7 bucks the other day, so I can see what all the hype was about with it.
It's from Blizzard, so I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

I think I remember hearing a couple years ago that there would be a 3d version and a software graphics version, but i ain't sure

There is warcraft 3:reign of darkness, which is what is being beta-tested now. It will be in the same style as war2 and sc in that it is a RTS game, but with updated graphics and LOTSA of goodies! Check out the screenshots.

And then there is a world of warcraft, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game similiar to Everquest, which was announced relatively recently, and will debut sometime after the RTS game.

man, Blizzard is notorious for putting out games very, very late. i remember when i first got SC. it said that diablo ii would be coming out in like 1998, but it came out two years later. oh well. at least the expansion pack came somewhat on time.

How do you think they make sure that you only register with one per household. Is it solely going to be based on address or do they log IP addresses. I want my dad to use his computer to sign me up because I don't have a good enough video card to meet the minimum specs and use my address at college. He also signed up for himself using the address at our home. So thats two sign ups using the same computer but different addresses and different names. You think they will log the IP and see that the same IP was used twice and kick us out of the running?

The beta copy dies upon completion, (2 to 3 months), and unlike other beta programs, you do not get any final copy.
You must buy the retail game at full price after beta ends.
You "reward" for testing is getting the chance to play before others do.

Hope you have your old Glide cards lying around. I'm sure WC3 utilitizes DirectX 4.0 and Glide, since those were the techs out when it was being developed 4 years ago. Don't worry though Diablo III will be the saving grace for the company, due out sometime in 3000.
