34.99 is pretty expensive for an expansion. I bought the stupid game when it first came out for retail, now its 1/3 of the regular price. anyone think the price will drop fast enough in say a month or two?

Going by D2's expansion, I'd say be prepared to wait at least 6 months if not a year for it to drop in price. I ended up getting war3 for 24 shipped at gogamer 2 months ago so I'll end up paying more for the expansion :frown: EBgames has the war3 collectors edition for $30 now too. While I dislike the increase in expansion prices from $20 up to $35 on average, I'd say FT is worth it but then I play a lot of war3.

I think only Blizzard made their expansion sets a regular of $35. Most other expansions are cheaper, especially the Sims expansions. Gah, Blizzard thinks they are soo high and mighty that they can charge soo much. WHy don't they get off their arses and work on the next starcraft!

What price are you cooiting to with the preorder? BB ususally knocks $10 off most games the first weekend they are released only to put them back to retail price later on. I have noticed this trend with a number of big name releases.

It came out a year ago, what did you expect? I bought it about a month or two after it came out, and I paid $29 shipped. If you wait about a week or two, Best Buy USUALLY (as my experience with Blizz games there in the past) drop the price to $30, I bought LOD for $35 day it came out, then had to return it because it was defective (actually a soundcard incompatability) sometime in the next week, and got $5 back because of a price drop.

They are high and mighty, and judging by how many people play starcraft/diablo/wc3, they don't have to lower their prices.

meanwhile EA sucks, they just pulled support for C&C Generals, no expansion either, and its only been out less than 6 months. EA also overprices their expansion, the one for ra2 was $35 when it came out

Yeah, and Blizzard basically blocks anybody from pirating Warcraft III with Battle.net, you have to pay to play(unless you're really hardcore about pirating and are really bored enough to try and circumvent this with some sort of TCP/IP tunneling software to emulate a LAN and even then it's not even close to the simplicity of Battle.net). Well, unless you have friends who don't play their games anymore and feel like giving you their CD-KEY
