Blizzard is one of the best game companies hands down. All of their PC games are GREAT. Always well polished and never disappointing. Even good companies have a few bad apples but not Blizzard.

They have free online matching that is pretty darn good. They are religious about blocking cheats and punishing cheaters. If all of this wasn't good enough, their game protection (although not perfect) is solid and has never caused me any grief.

Blizzard deserves every dollar you spend on their PC products. I wish half the PC game companies were so loyal to good games, good patching, good multiplayer support, and fair play as blizzard.

There are places to play online without a "legit" code still. What bothers me about war3 is that they used securom or whatever and it takes up to 45 seconds of "cd checking" on startup before the game loads.

Dunno why your comp is taking so long but all our comps load up quickly w/ War3. If you have problems w/ cd rom speed - just emulate w/ daemon tools. You'll be able to mount a virtual cd drive onto your comp.

you may bitch and moan all you want, but at the end of the day, you get what you pay for. as mentioned above by Cabrams. and if you want cheaper prices, wait around i got mine for 29.99 or less from newegg maybe a month after the game's release? don't remember much from last summer tho..

they also make you wait like crazy for their games to come out, but only updates for balancing rather then bug fixes is well worth the price of admission.

If you play the game and find the easter eggs, you'd swear that Blizzard has something up their sleaves. If anything they certianly haven't forgotten about Starcraft which by the numbers is obviously and easily their most popular game/series. The hidden scene at the end with marines and zerg shows that they have working model units on the WC3 engine and the Night Elf level where you can actually "rescue" a Hydralisk to join your party shows that the Blizzard spent some time getting the unit working realistically and near flawless on the WC3 engine (not to mention that its hilarious watch a Hydra kick some undead ass!!! )

I thought the single player for WC3 was fun, more polished than SC but maybe not as epic, you'd have to read the huge manual to get the bigger and far more epic story from the game (which is why the Frozen Throne is probably going to be such an uber expansion as the title hints that it is based around the Liche King who is incredibly powerful, perhaps more so than the dread lords who imprisoned him...)

I went to the local BB and tried to get in on this deal and found out that this BB was not offering a $10 gift card for WC3:TFT pre-orders!!!! This was in the Poughkeepsie, N.Y. area.... sounds like YMMV on this deal.

Can't wait for SC2 to come out, but this W3 game is a great game to hold me off til then, and just like brood wars, this exp is sure to change the game completely again. It should be worth the money. I know I made the most out of the 20 bucks I spent on W3
