I'd rather a warcraft movie from the perspective of the peasants. I want to know what that dude's life is like, endlessly chopping trees or mining for gold, walking back and forth, day and night. Sometimes a roving gang of monsters shows up at your door and kills all the guards, maybe even some of your peasant friends, but you just keep on working like nothing is going on.

Those guys are beaten back, then someone orders you to fix the wall for the 8th time and build 2! towers this time. Back to carrying gold. All the while, you haven't even seen your wife in 2 months even though your house is about 10 paces from the gold mine.

Marginal quality CGI ... check.

No meaningful plot-line ... check.

Flat emotionless voice-acting ... check.

I might watch when it hits Netflix/Prime etc ... might.



Edit: Travis Fimmel (aka: Ragnar Lothbrok) is the one positive I see not counting the fangs on that female orc on the cage!

As a once devoted WoW fan who still loves the mythos, I find this trailer deeply disappointing. I don't like the CGI. I wish they had spent some all that money crafting real armor, weapons and costumes and left the cgi to special effects. Even scenery looks a bit crappy. uggh!

The CGI looks out of place. The Orcs don't look like they belong in the same world as the humans. (pun not intended) Looks awful.

The various mythological orcs and trolls makes it impossible to do live action very well.

You know what would have been awesome? If they had the same style as all of the various intro cinematics. This one reminds me most of chronicles of narnia

Would love to have been either a 100% cgi film or a 5%cgi film. But this is like 50/50. If it had been 100% making it like the WoW intros would be great, but a 100 minute movie with that level of production value is likely uneconomical.

It did look like a badly done LOTR rip off. The CGI to live action is jarring.
