And in Avengers II Ultron is made by Stark not Pym, things get changed when going to the movie screen.

I think the king telling Garona to kill him to save herself makes more sense than Med casting a magic doubt spell on her or something. But when Khadgar came out of the fel pool I seriously thought he would have been aged. I was surprised when he wasn't.

Saw it last night and liked the movie. Felt like it could have and should have been longer or have a definite next chapter so they could have slowly built into this one.

Went with someone who didn't know anything about it and he liked it and would go and see the next one.

As someone who's played WoW (not the original warcraft games) I liked seeing the characters, the cities and the different references throughout the movie.

There were a few times that the dialog was just corny and I wish they had stayed away from that. Wasn't a big fan of how the actress played Garona. Thought all the other actors did a good job.

It's an interesting quandary because it's a blockbuster smash in places like China, while being a box office bust in the US simultaneously. Then again, I think the marketing in the US was complete shit.

Seems one of the scenes cut has details about garonas earlier life.http://www.wired.com/2016/06/warcraft-and-the-future-of-blockbusters/

I watched some YouTube video where a guy discussed the media released around the movie (1 graphic novel, 2 books). He mentioned that the movie's novelization contained a lot more of the character's thoughts, but more importantly, contained scenes which were most likely deleted from the theatrical cut. Apparently, the novel was quite explicit in that
Garona is Medivh's child, and that's why Gul'dan brought her with him
.

Also, based upon some of the other material, it seems that there's nothing about The Burning Legion anywhere. Essentially, in this universe, fel magic is simply the big, bad evil.

It was pretty and had nice production values. As someone at least moderately familiar with Warcraft it was definitely cool seeing many characters/concepts/places brought to life.

However if you strip that away or are someone with no exposure to/interest in Warcraft I think it doesn't fare so well. I think it's few attempts to evoke emotion with[in] the characters fall pretty flat, most of the acting is serviceable at best (Lothar and Garona in particular had some real 'ugh' sequences) and I just didn't feel like it connected with me much. I never really was rooting for anyone, rooting against anyone or cared about the outcome. I just kind of enjoyed the pretty effects and then it was over.

Watching the movie, the medivh-garona connection seemed fairly obvious by the time they met in the tower.

As for the legion, heard that one ofrom the Easter eggs was a scene with guldan talking to someone in the background that was hard to notice unless looking for it and that may have supposed to been him contacted them.

And for anyone else going to watch, catch durotan when he goes to challenge guldan. He dons the frost wolf cloak for the first time in the movie and it is an awesome site.

Durotan is why I rank this movie higher than so many other thoughtless video game movies that are all so mind numbing and brain dead. Durotan in this movie had more heart than most non-cgi characters.

One of the discussions I listened to on it mentioned that the weakest parts of the film (ignoring those I heard that sounded like someone reading Aikouka post here) being the missing connective tissue among the humans in the beginning and orc dialogue over same period as being superior is somewhat lessened to those watching a dubbed version improving the overall human cast experience.

Thank god, sequel here we go.

I grew up playing War2 & 3 primarily. 3's story is amazing.

As the ending of the movie indicated, the sequel will show 3 storyline!

Wouldn't the next movie be the second war? Opens with Stormwind being razed and the horde being victorious, with Lothar and the survivors escaping via boats to Lordaeron where King Terenas and the other races form together to make the Alliance. Second movie is spent defeating the horde. Third movie would be liberating Orcs from camps and Thrall rebuilding the Horde/Arthas becoming the Lich King etc. The third movie is what I want to see.

Watched it yesterday.
Much nicer than most game->movie crap. Waiting for the sequals
Khadgar not aging was odd, but I think it was the right decision - anyone not familiar with the lore will just wonder why he DID age for no apparent reason.

If a sequal covers the second war, much butt-kicking will be seen, but hopefully we'll also see more dwarves and elves.
(ok, and gnomes)

At one point Stormwind being razed was going to be in this one, but it turned out already to be too long for what they did cover so that idea got axed.

Thinking back on it in hindsight, Doomhammer was a real idiot not killing Gul'dan, instead leaving him to his devices in the second war. What's the worst that could possibly happen? :hmm:

Not sure how much a price mistake it is or if you'll ever get a copy, but target has the 4k/br version on pre-order for $13.

I finally watched it. I'm a huge Warcraft lore fan, I absolutely loved playing Warcraft 2 & 3, but not WoW nor Warcraft 1.

1. In Warcraft 3 game, Thrall & Grom are buddy commanders, and both depicted as similar age of able bodied adults- in both in-game & cinematics. This movie already shows Grom as we know him as an adult. This doesn't make sense as Thrall (Go-el) is just a baby.

2. I don't like this whole retconn of fel-corrupted Orcs being green. Green WAS the natural color of orcs. It's clear that fel-corruption turned them RED. What is the point of this?

We got Warcraft 2 & 3 out of it, including Illidan's come to power by the consumption of Skull of Gul'dan.

Only because of Illidan and his newly acquired demonic teleportation, he was able to save Tyrande from certain death by Undead, and in turn she was able to play a vital role in defeating Archinmonde wrecking the entire world.

So you should thank Doomhammer for saving the world.

Holy hell I'm a dork.

You got that backwards. Fel corruption turns the orcs green.
