This is for "name brand" whey protein, usually it might not be worth the extra money, but in this case it is just as cheap as buying some unknown brand from an unknown company. Drugstore.com has a Free Shipping on $50+ orders and a $5 off $15 (may be for new customers only, coupon can be found on internet) Here is the link to the protein, but it comes in cholate and strawberry too for the same price. EAS Whey Protein

It can be had for much cheaper.

Allsports

$45.49 shipped

It isn't an unknown brand either.

EDIT: I am glad to see threads for these types of products because I am sure there is a cheaper place than I mentioned.

If you want options and everything, proteinfactory.com is really good...there was a thread awhile back about Protein Factory.

There was some talk about protein factory's protein not meeting requirements that they say. It was tested and failed.

It is a little cheaper, but is that brand and website reputable? I looked at this site and for the SAME product it is about the same. SAME product I guess the point of my post was that it is a good (maybe not great) deal from a good manufacturer and a name company. I'm not trying to get into a war here, and if anyone has a better suggestion, by all means I would appreciate it being posted. What do other people think about name brand vs. generic protein. It seems to me that if it's comparable price you should go with a name, as the generic stuff could be just sugar and shredded newspaper for all I know. (Yeah the name could be too, but it's less likely).

There are lots of places to buy. BTW Optimum Nutrition isn't just some unknown brand that hasn't been tested. There are TONS of people at elitefitness.com that love Optimum Nutrition whey protein. A lot don't like the taste but most everyone is happy with it. A lot of the people are professional bodybuilders. You can pay for EAS's name but it isn't that big of a deal.

Another inexpensive place to buy supplements is dpnutrition

Be aware their site is AWFUL. It is one of the worst designed sites I have seen in a long time but people at elitefitness have ordered from them without a problem.

Another site is massnutrition Much nicer site......

Yeah, DPS Nutrition has an awful looking site, but they deliver the goods!

I have ordered from them several times and my orders have always arrived within a week's time. They are on the opposite coast from me, so 7 days isn't too bad. Their prices are really good and shipping is fairly cheap.

OK, I was not sure if Optimum was legit or not, I guess it may not be much of a difference then...

Wasn't there some site with a coupon for discounts on EAS products in the last Whey thread? Which site was that again?

there are big differences between brands and quality of protein...

there are 3 types of whey protein: isolate, concentrate, and another that i forgot...

anyway isolate has no lactose or sugar and is far and away the best quality... big time!! no comparison

concentrate is ok.... but it has TONS of lactose.. the quality isn't to bad though....

the other sucks big time...

so whenever buying whey protein check to see what kind of whey it is... ALWAYS stick to brands that use mostly isolate... i only buy 100% pure isolate mixes....

i get this really good brand called isopure... 8.8lbs for $60 the difference is very noticeable... less filling and no stomach pains...

I have been using the EAS simply protein for a year or so, it is the best value out there in my opinion.....

I buy it at www.vitaglo.com they have it for 25$ with free shipping... its the best protein deal out there in my opinion.

I would like to try some other brands but no other brand I can find offers me 80 servings for 25$

ummmm yeah you can eat egg whites all day long if you want. When someone is trying to take in 300g protein a day, eatting egg whites isn't going to cut it. I try to take about 5-6 shakes a day for around 110g of protein via whey protein.

That would only be 18 eggs. I couldn't eat that many eggs in a day.

Whey is the most bioavailable protein there is. It's the most ideal protein you can get. You couldn't utilize all the protein in those egg whites. Whey is also known to have anticarcinogenic properties.

This is a very nice deal! They have 20% off their EAS orders right now w/ a purchase of $100 or more. Now is the time to stock up the already low prices they have. Thanks for mentioning vitaglo.com.

true that, and if it's 18 eggs/day it sure will cost more than whey protein.
I've been using EAS for almost 2 yrs and i'm pleased with the taste and product quality, highly recommended.

These are some good sites.

Vitaglo.com is currently running a 20% off EAS sale. without the sale they are still 20$ or more cheaper a bottle on some stuff called Betalean I just bought at my local "discout chain."

I paid 29.95 for the 120 pill betalean, regular price at Vitaglo is 19.95 BEFORE the 20% eas coupon disount. Not bad at all. Savings of 10$ plus per bottle.

These are good prices guys.

GNC regularly has their 6-pound bottle of 100% Whey Protein for $50 and there is a printable coupon for 20% off in-store. Right now you can also get 1/2 off a second bottle, so you can score 12 pounds for $60 plus tax. Sweet!

I just ordered 500$ of supplements and promptly got 100$ off plus free shipping at checkout at Vitaglo.com.

I happen to like and use EAS, this deal really paid for itself. I saved like 6$ per Precision Protein canister. Now I am stocked up :
