In the title of the OD page it says 109S20 and in the des below for model name it says 109B20. I wonder which one it is and if the 20 is actually part of the name because the rebate does not have the 20 in the end of the name. The monitor looks like its the 109B judging by the picture on the rebate.

this is a great monitor, I got the same deal few month ago if you don't expect sony quality, you won't be disappoint. Rebate is pretty fast, take about 5 weeks only, I think it is a lot faster than Philips CD-rw rebate.

My 19" Envision i've had since last year was well worth the $140 I paid then from Staples. I would have no problem purchasing another of thier brand.

I bought the 109S20 a few months back with the 25% off OD coupon deal. The $100 rebate took over 8 weeks to arrive from Philips (and after a phone call to get on their case).

The monitor is really quite good. The screen is not flat but that doesn't bother me. One should know that the dot pitch isn't that great (0.27 diagonal, I think) so at resolutions of 1280x1024 and higher, I can personally begin to see fuziness in text. That's not a problem for me b/c I use 1024x768 and fuzziness isn't an issue for games where I might use a higher resolution. But I think the dot pitch limits you more than the refresh rates, which remain high.

The best part of the monitor, IMHO, is the amazingly small footprint. I fit this monitor into the same space used by my old Apple 15" monitor!!! That was a major selling point for me, as I didn't have much room on my desk.

I also have this monitor, got it in october for about the same price. it's the 109s (i think the 109b is flat screen) and i really like the monitor. my rebate took over 12 weeks to arrive. i didn't call them until the 10th week, but they were very nice and apologized for the delay, explaining that they were now doing their rebates 'in house' and were working the bugs out of their system. check arrived 2 weeks later, just as promised, so i am quite happy with this deal. good luck everyone. the number i used for rebate inquiries...(800) 531-0039.

anybody look at the specs on this thing? max refresh frequecny is 60 Hz? not a chance. that's noticable, and annoying. and only .27 dot pitch? i personally would spend a little more money and get a decent monitor.

Use a little common sense, nobody would manufacture a 19" pc monitor that could only do 60Hz. The max on the 109B20 is 160Hz. Either its a typo or they meant 60Hz at max resolution...

I have a 107s and I couldn't be happier with it. I've thrown it in my car for many a road trip at the oddest angles and it still works perfectly. (and it uses little space too)

I'm using a Philips 109S right now (bought it because I needed something immediately). It's running at 1280x960@85Hz. While definately a step down from the KDS Avitron AV-195TF that I owned previously, it's a solid deal for the price. However, it's not that much more for a flat screen if you watch for the deals

Edit: BTW, my rebate took about 2 months to process.

Yeah, when I was moving my computer desk I put my 107S on my bed for a minute. Then, when I went to get to the other side of the desk, I put my knee on the bed and my monitor fell 3 feet to the floor and landed on its corner. I was surprised (and relieved) to find that it still worked. I definitely plan on getting another Philips when the time comes to upgrade..

You must have missed the huge thread on the problems getting the $40 rebate on the CD-RW drive from last year. It took most people 4-5 months of repeated phone calls, emails, and general frustration. The only way to get the rebate was to email a certain person, Natalia Russ, and then she would personally ensure that your rebate got processed. With all the grief and thankless work, I'm sure she's quit by now.

If you buy this monitor, make sure that you're happy with the price BEFORE rebate, because you may never see your rebate check.

P.S. It took me four phone calls, a letter on Planet Feedback, and five emails to get my rebate.
